I’ve been to Dog and Bear many times. It’s a traditional British style pub. It’s laid back and chill, not a place for an event but definitely a place to hang out with the friends and grab some pints. Football(soccer) lovers as owners the screens always have good matches on during the season. If you are there on a day where west Ham and Man U go head to head you will likely see the rivalry as friends and supporters pile in and sit in separate sections of the bar to cheer for their teams. So based on reviews I decided to try Big Smoke Burger, (formerly Craft Burger) at their King East location. The burger was awesome. One of the best burgers I've ever had. The fries were skinny and crispy. I prefer fat and potatoey. Also the kethup on hand was really vinagery. The burger was worth it though. Read more

I love beer and I love a long list of options recited to me by memory... there seem to be so many negative reviews about the Bier Markt but... it's a pub, really, and a spacious, respectable one with Great Beer at that. I was at the Esplanade location last Friday afternoon around 4pm with my husband and some friends and we had a fantastic time drinking pints of Steigl, Erdinger weissbrau, Jupiler, and sharing fondue--wish there was a ski hill nearby. I've been here often, mainly for the beer, but last Friday the atmosphere was great, really quiet and just right for a late lunch. I wish the decor was a little cozier inside. Read more

Made a reservation online, probably a good idea, heard it was a busy spot. We were late for our reservation but they honored it. And it was packed. I had the special, can't remember the type of beef but it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, and the poutine was also amazing. My girl had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and she loved it. We also had the Pickle Fries (good) as a starter and two pints of beer, bill with tip was around $80.
