Made a reservation online, probably a good idea, heard it was a busy spot. We were late for our reservation but they honored it. And it was packed. I had the special, can't remember the type of beef but it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, and the poutine was also amazing. My girl had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and she loved it. We also had the Pickle Fries (good) as a starter and two pints of beer, bill with tip was around $80. After reading some excellent reviews, I decided to bring my husband here for his birthday dinner. Most of what we had were new to us but very tasty. I've always wanted to try jamon iberico and we were able to get our first taste of the famed iberico and it was indeed fantastic! The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much. The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork. Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. The waiter that sat us down was extremely nice as was the waitress serving us. The enthusiastic attitude of both of them definitely made this place having amazing service. The service is not the same at the Casey's near AMC in Scarborough. The service here was outstanding. The atmosphere needs no mentioning as its a given with a chain of what to expect - the same thing as last time. The grilled chicken on salad was above average. Read more

I’ve been to Dog and Bear many times. It’s a traditional British style pub. It’s laid back and chill, not a place for an event but definitely a place to hang out with the friends and grab some pints. Football(soccer) lovers as owners the screens always have good matches on during the season. If you are there on a day where west Ham and Man U go head to head you will likely see the rivalry as friends and supporters pile in and sit in separate sections of the bar to cheer for their teams.
