We go from Ottawa to Sault Ste Marie at least twice a year. We actually time our exit from the city to make sure we arrive in Sturgeon before RIV closes. Since poutine is not on my 'heart friendly' food list, I try to limit my consumption. So when we go through Strugeon - we go to RIV. (Even my Dr concedes that poutine twice a year is an acceptable frequency) I love the mustard 'painted' pogo and the layered cheese curd poutine. 100% BEST. POUTINE. EVER. Read more

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch during a road trip not knowing what to expect. It is fair to say that they completely exceeded our expectations.
