Took my boyfriend for his birthday lunch on 01 Feb and ordered off the Winterlicious menu. Each course was perfectly presented and just right, portion-wise. When dessert came, they had put a candle on his plate along with "Joyeux Anniversaire" written in chocolate along the edge. A very nice touch! We did read a lot of reviews about the David Duncan House and were a bit skeptical about dining here last week, We had some friends in from out of town and decided to come here for dinner,We did however drop by one afternoon and looked around and picked up a menu, We had a reservation for 6.30 pm, got seated in the lower level,nice round table in the corner, The servers were yes a bit old school but very kind and did answer all our questions.Ordered some cocktails and got some galic bread,pickles and cottage cheese, We started of with a caeser for 4 that was prepared table side, All I can say is that is was to die for,Crispy romaine rich thick salad dressing made from the scratch. Main dishes were Rack of lamb,Filet mignon,Dover sole,and Prime Rib,We also had a bottle of red shiraz that the server recommended for 39.95 that was a great complimant to our meals,I myself had the Dover sole and my wife the filet, All of our meals were very good, The vegetables were ok a bit bland,the baked and mashed potatos were good, The servers were around when needed and did look after us through our evening, We did not have any dessert just some coffee and tea, Our friends have beev raving about this place to all there friends and made it a point to tell us when ever they visit us we will be going to the David Duncan House , In my opinion the reataurant was great, Not over priced a good meal and experienced servers, It is a dining room from the past era that has been around for a long time so I guess they are donig something right, My wife and I will be visiting again soon as we enjoyed our eveing with our friends, Read more

It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. Most reviews rate the restaurant by atmosphere, portion size, price and service. These independent restaurant reviewers have no one to please but their finicky tastes.
  • The concierge always knows: If you are travelling in -e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e, your hotel’s concierge or hotel staff will be able to find restaurants that suit your taste buds and budget. Are you looking for something ethnic, local or for a fine dining experience? The concierge will be able to lead you in the right direction and even place a reservation for you or place a takeout order if dealing with delivery restaurants.
