Took my boyfriend for his birthday lunch on 01 Feb and ordered off the Winterlicious menu. Each course was perfectly presented and just right, portion-wise. When dessert came, they had put a candle on his plate along with "Joyeux Anniversaire" written in chocolate along the edge. A very nice touch! Our server Chad was very attentive, polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the wine list. Will definitely return for more!! Read more

I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. Hello, I go to restaurants and everybody around me seems miserable - I went to Aristotles the other day and I was having my dinner, which I will get into later, and then I heard a "HUGE" belly laugh, I looked up and it was the owner, I thought to myself, this guy seems happy. A few minutes later, another belly laugh while he was talking to some people at another table. I am like wow, either this guy is really happy or he is missing a few screws. Anyway, a few minutes later, he came by my table to check on me, he had a smile from ear to ear and asked how everything was. Everything was great, I told him. His attitude and personality put me in the best mood and we have barely had a verbal exchanged - I was thinking to myself, why can't more people in this business be like this guy?? I left in a great mood, and the atmosphere made my day! I came to the conclusion that he is NOT missing a few screws, he has the right idea and puts people in great moods. In respect to the food, the Burger has to be, probably the best I have had since I can remember. Came with a side of fries that were nice and hot! The concierge always knows: If you are travelling in -e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e, your hotel’s concierge or hotel staff will be able to find restaurants that suit your taste buds and budget. Are you looking for something ethnic, local or for a fine dining experience? The concierge will be able to lead you in the right direction and even place a reservation for you or place a takeout order if dealing with delivery restaurants.
