We hit Black Forg last night before the Lions game and loved their vibe. The atrium that provides over half of the seating is ideally situated at the foot of Cambie Street to provide views of the North Shore and the workd going by on Water Street. They offer a great selection of draught and bottled beer and offered a take on a Snake Bite that they should put on the menu and call the Black Frog...who knew that adding Ribena would taste so good! The wings that were hotter than hot were exactly as advertised and really tasty! The only concerns we had were with the mains we had. The steak sandwich was a bit tough to chew as a sandwich but went better when I ate it open faced. The curry and chips were kind of bland and would probably be better as an Indian curry than a Thai curry. We will try other items on our next visit. Our concerns on the food aside, we will be back because it was such a great little spot. Head over to the Black Frog next time you're looking for a fun spot to chill! Read more

Goldies pizza is different then your usual pizza place. It is distinguished by the pizza itself. When you buy a slice (or a whole pizza) you don't end up with a huge bready crust, Goldies is served rustic style... on thin crust. It's seriously the best pizza I have tasted in town. I prefer the mushroom pizza the most. YOu can see all the slices Goldies offers through their display window right off of Pender street, or you can go inside, sit at the bar, and order a beer while you they heat up your slice! I really liked the atmosphere. The owner, Michael, is a classy guy. He treats everyone with respect who walks in the door. They are also becoming more tech savy, and are adding their listings to Foursquare, and twitter. I checked into foursquare at goldies pizza, and got a dollar off their draft beer. Its a nice place! This is the place I visited when I cam to Vancouver for the first time. In that sense, when I noticed people having a great time there, it always puts a smile on my face. This time, although it was quite busy as usual but my friends and I were seated promptly. Friendly server whose service was simply a top-notch. This place's got everything: a great atmosphere, something different from other run of the mill restaurants in town and also more importantly great food! This place is the perfect blend of bar and restaurant in the evenings which I easily enjoy most for the night out. Above all, their Bellini and French 75 are to die for! Read more
