When you go to chain restaurant, you often get apathy, slow service, and usually something below par. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. First off, when we were seated, they did the server's name in crayon as many chains do, but also pointed out where the washrooms are and told us explicitly that we could ask any server for anything if she was not visible. The chocolate milkshake was loved by my daughter, and was nice and thick with the extra that didnt make the glass served in the stainless stell container it was made in. We were getting worried about service when our brushetta bread took so long, but the server showed up, and apologized for the delay telling us the original order was not up to par, so they remade it, and because of the delay, it was on the house. WOW - free food and I didnt have to complain at all. The chicken fajita was served sizzling hot and the wings were very good. The atmosphere is typical for a bar and grill, targetting the younger crowd. The staff all wore blue t-shirts with cheeky slogans such as "Please tip well - i know that's not your wife" and the servers are selected for certain assets that goes well beyond statistical coincidence. I would go back with the guys, or a business client, but not really a family place, but the food was very good, service was excellent, and little things like stocking diet redbull as well as the regular blue can, made it a great place to eat. I always enjoy the menu at Milestones. I have one concern. The wine list unbelievably does not have ONE Ontario wine in its selection of wines that are all international. Its hard to believe that in our Niagara region we produce some of the worlds best wines at very good prices and Milestones doesn't have even one red and white available. Mandarin is a really excellent place to eat a buffet. They are really kind to you and free refills (water, coke). They give you these mint candy after your visit for free. If you tell them that it is your birthday, they give you a cake piece, sing the happy birthday song and a free picture. Also, they have decorations for you to enjoy and they keep the place very neat. I like how they make food and name the food it’s specific name. The names also say if it is sugar-free, and if it is spicy. They have specific rooms that they assign you to eat and the sign tells you what room it is (Room A, Room b .etc.). The employes are really nice and when you come in, they make you feel welcomed (unless if the lineup is really long and people have reservations). After you are done with your food, you can just leave your plate on your table. You can get a new plate with food on it so you do not have to use the same plate over and over again. In conclusion, you should really go to Mandarin. It is a really excellent buffet to go to. It has crab legs right now and they are really expensive to buy at a store. They have a variety of foods and make their own combinations of foods which is really good. We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more
