So, good. The food was delicious, though not gastro-pubby, but rather pub grub. It could use new carpeting throughout. The stand out for us was the service. Our server was helpful, knew the menu inside out, and when we asked for some changes to make one of the meals heart healthy they went out of their way to make it happen. We were seated in a quiet corner...easier for my Dad that he didn't have to climb up a step...but there was loud laughter coming from around the corner. Everyone seemed to be greeted by name at the door. Our server was a nice young girl, but everyone paid attention to us, helping to deliver the meal, checking on how we liked our meals. I worked all through college as a waitress, and I am kind of picky about service attitude, and this was wonderful. Read more

We just moved close to Rays, and stopped in for a couple of beers while a game was on. It has a laid back atmosphere, and the service is great! We have never eaten food here but have looked over the menu and its looks decent. For sure a great place to enjoy a beer and catch up! I ordered the risotto and my husband ordered the seafood pasta. I eat risotto where ever I go and I fell in love with this one. (I'm already craving it if you want to know the truth!) The seafood pasta was perfect (yes, my husband shared). You get a large portion of seafood, including lobster! The service was absolutely great. Unfortunately, some people say otherwise (which is disappointing) but the service we received was fantastic. They were quick, efficient and had plenty of smiles. Wonderful restaurant and drinking establishment. I usually go there with my boyfriend but sometimes, late at night, when he is asleep, you can find me at Jax because that is where good friends meet. And I've met so many good friends like MJ and have recently got my hair extensions done by this beautiful woman who had carried around roses that entire evening. I went there once with my friend Claire, who was, at the time, struggling with her weight and needed assistance to get to the karaoke bar to sing 'Stand By Your Man' and no one mocked her obesity. The food there is great and it is full of great real people. I cannot highly recommended this place enough and when you come out on a Saturday night after making an easy 25 bucks, I'll have a place reserved for you at my table. We've been here a number of times and we've always enjoyed our meals. It's standard mom and pop diner fare, and priced right. The service has always been friendly and efficient and they know alot of their regulars by name. On our last visit, the service was slow, but it was a Sunday and the place was packed. I guess we could be considered regulars ,as we go at least once a week. The service in my opinion is great even when the server is all by herself on a busy wing night. As for the review with the $50 certificate they did have a sign on the front door, I saw it there for quite some time. The food is always good but if there is a problem they rectifiy it for us.
