Definitely the best bar / restaurant in the area. Great Patio in the back and very cozy atmosphere inside. This is a designated heritage building and there are old pictures of the area on the walls which is a nice touch. The food is great and it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American. What I like most is the open kitchen. The food is prepped in the open! It's a refreshing change from almost all other restaurants that prep food behind closed doors (makes you wonder what's really crawling in the kitchen). The Bar has good selection on tap and there is a comfortable lounging area in the back by the fireplace as well. If you are looking for something in this area, I would definitely recommend going here. Read more

This restaurant is amazing! The place looks great, and getting a table wasn't a problem at all. The servers were very nice and made themselves useful. The best part was, there was a live jazz band! How amazing is that? The food here was very good, I had the lamb shank and for dessert, I had the seasonal warm fruit crumble, which were both very delicious. Unlike other reviewers' experience, the service we received was exemplary - friendly, attentive and fast. Food showed imagination, especially the crab croquettes with a spicy sauce surround them. We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more

The first thing i notice when i walked into POGUE MAHONES was that all the waitresses wore plaid thigh-length skirts - i am glad i arrived here! It is a kind of dark place with dark wood all over. Also it is a very busy and noisy place, i can barely hear myself talking. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive as they came back every once in awhile to check on our needs a few times. All of our food arrive fresh and hot. My coffee was fresh and scalding hot, it came in a generous sized mug too. My seafood chowder was hot and it was very creamy, not bad! My chicken wings were satisfactory, no complaints here! Okay now my Grand Spuds with irish-poutine-style sucked!!! The fries had melted cheese and gravy on top, but the freshcut homemade fries, tasted totally off. My friend who had fries in his dish also complained about the fries tasting YUCK! My other friends were very satisfied with their dishes (fish n chips, liver n onions w mashed potato, chicken pot pie w mashed potatoes, jambalaya). Good service, satisfactory food, unpleasant atmosphere (too noisy)... would i visit again? i dont think i will. Overall satisfactory! Read more

(Harlem on Queen) After a weekend of dining at pretentious good-for-nothing restaurants (re: Spice Route) we decided to settle for Harlem, my bf's idea as the location of this place is easy to miss with so many other eateries surrounding it. We had the brunch/lunch menu. The waitresses were very attentive. Served right away. Food was quite tasty, although the only negative part about it was that it came out a lukewarm. The catfish lafyette was delicious! Yam and yukon hash was good, but would've been better if served hot, as potatoes tend to get rubbery when it gets cold. The ribs were not bad either. There was a lot of food on the menu that I wanted to try today, so I'll definitely go back , maybe during dinner the next time. Read more

Came in on Yelp recommendations to get a quick bite. Turned into a gourmet experience! Margarita- Only had better at an authentic Mexican place in Bradford (MexiCanada). Wonderful traditional flavor and properly made and presented. Dry Rib- Excellent. Wonderful taste, not overwhelming the meat, meat done to perfection. Was told it was more spicy than the wet rib, loved the heat. Had it with a nice Malbec Coleslaw - best I have ever had. The sauce was creamy but light and didn't overwhelm the veg. Very fresh and crunchy. Sweet Potato Fry- done nice and dark (double fried) and still full full of flavor but no grease AT ALL. excellent job. Atmosphere- low key, dim lights and excellent music mix. Easy to slip into an indulgent mode. Very comfortable in the diner decor and the simple bell used to signal the next order being ready. OVERALL - WOW! Will be back. Can't wait for patio season!
