I am a patron using a disbility device and while the restaurant is not "accessible" perse they do their best to make you feel comfortable. Now aside from that, I've been visiting this restaurant for roughly 20 years. My Mother and I found it a long time ago looking for a good Japanese restaurant that wasn't all the way downtown. The have great sushi, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, soups & my favourite Japanese style salad! Decor could use an update but it's clean and comfortable. There's a hidden entry from parking behind the restaurant or the double doorway at the front. Last night I decided to eat in for the first time since becoming differently abled so to speak. I had the Legend Boston roll with crab, Japanese mayonaise and salmon topper. It was very rich so I suggest if you try this do it with several people so everyone can have a taste, it was lovely but too rich for just one person to demolish. I had the shrimp tempura dinner which has tempura vegetables with it. Last night the tiger shrimp were lovely and fresh and the mix of vegetable composed of squash, sweet potato, onion and broccoli were very yummy. They make amazing tempura sauce. The meal comes with salad, miso soup, rice and huge plate of tempura so again great for sharing! I took home a cucumber roll for my son but seriously considered their toonie Tuesday offer which is a California roll, max of 2 given the offer, but my son is new to Japanese os a simple cucumber roll. I have plenty left over for lunch and am hoping the tempura will crisp up under the broiler today! Thanks to A.J. & staff for making it a lovely experience with my needs ;o) Read more

A group of 21 of us attended this venue on a Thursday morning for breakfast. Pro: They arranged the seating at the back of the restaurant to accommodate us at one long table. The music wasn't too loud and we had the whole area to ourselves. Pro: The waiter was friendly and VERY efficient!!! He took ALL of our orders without writing anything down and got all of our orders right. We were VERY impressed with his memory skills, accuracy and attention to detail. Pro: Everyone enjoyed their breakfast, and was especially pleased with the home fries - we like them crispy and seasoned. Tolerable: The food took approximately 15 mins to arrive, but we were chatting among ourselves to pass the time. It was a little more pricey than we would have liked, but the portion size exceeded our expectations. There didn't seem to be any cons except that there was a column behind the table minimizing some of the space, but everyone was pleased and didn't seem to have any complaints. Not only is the food fantastic but the price is an unbelievable 10 dollars for lunch and 12 for dinner. ALL YOU CAN EAT. You can order specialty dishes from the kitchen but the buffet has so many selections that you don't need to. Superb, fresh made naan and as many poppadums as you want are included in the price as well as desert. You just can't beat it. I discovered this place about 3 years ago and since then I have been going once a week, every week. No kidding, it's THAT good. Not once have I been disappointed. We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more

The service is not the same at the Casey's near AMC in Scarborough. The service here was outstanding. Came in on Yelp recommendations to get a quick bite. Turned into a gourmet experience! Margarita- Only had better at an authentic Mexican place in Bradford (MexiCanada). Wonderful traditional flavor and properly made and presented. Dry Rib- Excellent. Wonderful taste, not overwhelming the meat, meat done to perfection. Was told it was more spicy than the wet rib, loved the heat. Had it with a nice Malbec Coleslaw - best I have ever had. The sauce was creamy but light and didn't overwhelm the veg. Very fresh and crunchy. Sweet Potato Fry- done nice and dark (double fried) and still full full of flavor but no grease AT ALL. excellent job. Atmosphere- low key, dim lights and excellent music mix. Easy to slip into an indulgent mode. Very comfortable in the diner decor and the simple bell used to signal the next order being ready. OVERALL - WOW! Will be back. Can't wait for patio season! On a whim on a perfect day this summer, I found myself on Center Island with a delightful 2-person-bike rental. My companion and I biked to Ward Island and stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe. We sat on the backyard patio and it was a brilliant sight. Perfectly tree-shaded area with a gentle breeze to set off your view of the lovely garden and the lake behind it. The service was good: warm and attentive. The food was nicely done, and I enjoyed my salad (very filling) and chatting in the pleasant surroundings. This is a perfect place to stop for a break, a light meal or a cool drink on a warm day. I will definitely check back upon returning to The Island. Read more
