A great meal with great service, we'll definitely be back! Huge portions and a nostalgic atmosphere make for a memorable time. The sweet potatoe fries are a delicious "upgrade" from the regular fries. Read more

It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. I live near Queen and Spadina and have had some difficulty with finding decent low-medium priced sushi. Toshi is across from where I take spin class and I noticed that the sign indicated that the chef was Japanese so I decided to try it out. I found the fish to be fresh, the restaurant to be clean and the service to be attentive. They service appropriately sized rolls and nigiri, as opposed to the giant pieces that many other establishments serve (this is a good think IMO). Overall, very good meal and I think I will be frequenting Toshi a great deal. Read more

My girlfriend (aged 21) and me went here recently and we had sushi. She is very into sushi like crazy and me too now. So of course I am now into this asian cuisine. The Sushi rolls were a new experience for me (I recommend the Italian and the Jalapeno). It was good to see someone fusing lots of different tastes and styles together from around the world. Ichiban was a really sound place, they recommended dishes and he also explained how he put them together. Like I say, I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
