Quaint little cafe with old-world-charm leaded glass windows that open to the street in summer. I have been there many times, always getting one of their breakfast meals. The service has always been quick and polite. The owner/manager was always on site and seems to take pride in good service. The place is usually pretty busy, but has a quick turn around time, so there isn't usually a wait more than a minute or two. As soon as your coffee cup starts to empty, the waitress or busser is over to fill it right back up (if you desire). It is a good old fashioned diner/greasy spoon that is great to sit back and have conversation with friends, and also great prices. Bonus, it is located close to Riverdale farms (TO's 1st zoo) which is great place (free) for kids to see animals, and near riverdale park for a game of baseball, tennis, ultimate or walking the dog. The meal is always done how you like it, and price includes coffee/tea and a small cup of OJ. Not bad at all ;) One of the most economical places to have a full meal, and unlike Yorkville restos I have never been dissatisfied with the food nor the service. The one thing they could improve on is offering more hot water for tea drinkers...we enjoy refills too! Read more

The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much. The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork. Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. I love this place. My collegues and I used to eat lunch there at least three times a week - it was right in the building where we worked. The selection of pasta is amazing and they always made sure to have a fair selection of vegetarian dishes for one of my girlfriends. The people were friendly as usual and the garlic and pesto sauce used in the pasta is incredible. Definitely a place a recommend! Go and enjoy :) Read more

Superb service and food make this place somewhere to return again and again. Very attentive staff, excellent Italian dishes. I had the piping hot Minestrone vegetable soup and fresh fish of the day. The others had pasta or beef tenderloin. Everyone loved their meals. My only complaint was that my fish was to come with roasted potatoes and vegetables, but there was only one small half of a potato. Other than that, everything else was great, including dessert. The service was impeccable! Our server was very polite and always asked if we needed anything. The food is wonderful and fresh. Eating in complete darkness is really an experience on it's own.
