Took my boyfriend for his birthday lunch on 01 Feb and ordered off the Winterlicious menu. Each course was perfectly presented and just right, portion-wise. When dessert came, they had put a candle on his plate along with "Joyeux Anniversaire" written in chocolate along the edge. A very nice touch! Our server Chad was very attentive, polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the wine list. Will definitely return for more!! Read more

We come here to celebrate our one year anniversary and only because they have $1 oysters after 5pm. We figured we would have a 5 or 6 dozen and then head out to a lite dinner and some dancing. We never left Biffs. From the amazing service to having the evening manager come over to talk to us, everything here was wonderful. We ended up eating 8 dozen oysters, a bottle of champagne andtwo bottles of wine as well as the Scotch Eggs, Oh me oh my the scotch eggs here are to die for and you will not regret ordering them. We stayed for 5 hours enjoying thre ambience and each others talks. At the end of the night ( we closed the restaurant ) they brought us a complimentry dessert with happy anniversary wriiten in chocolate on it. Nice touch! I highly recommend this restuarant for dinner, business or personal. $1 oysters people! You cant go wrong. Amazing service Fresh and tasty food What are you waiting for? Make a reservation now! lol. We went there for nice dinner during winterlisious 2012. Overall restaurant is very busy but cozy and romantic. Our server was running around in hurry and as a result during entire evening mixed up who ordered what, since it was only two of us it was ok to switch. Food Overall was very good: My appetizer was yumm and so is my the other person, soft deep fried calamari was excellent. Chicken skewers were moist and sauce was perfectly spicy. For the main dish disappointment arrived, all main dishes come with rice and stir fry. Stir fry was the WORST I have ever tried, super hard giant pieces of cabbage+ raw zucchini made it unpleasant both on taste and texture. Main dish of red curry was excellent and rice was perfectly done. Basil beef was amazing (properly the softest piece of beef I have ever tried in my life). Desserts were good too my mango-chocolate mousse cake was heavenly and banana fritter had amazing crunchy but sweet coating on it . Read more

My friend ordered the Chicken Tikka, which was a big chicken breast, grilled with Tikka sauce on the side. Different, but good. I had the Ping Gai chicken which was excellent and came with Rice and Salad. Total with 2 beers came to $53. A great deal for pretty good food in an upscale pub atmosphere. Will definitely return. I've always wanted to try jamon iberico and we were able to get our first taste of the famed iberico and it was indeed fantastic! I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Read more

Katsura is tucked away in a separate, but connected, building right beside the main building of the Prince Hotel. The food here is very good but only slightly better than the cheaper places in the area. The teppanyaki tables are good. The sushi is fresh. The prices are high and the portions are not particularly large. So why would someone choose this place over its cheaper competitors? It's the decor and the service that makes this place stand out. From the moment you step in out of the snow, you are surrounded by tasteful Japanese decor. In the main dining area, the place is elegant, simple and to the point. The design allows large groups to eat in semi-isolation. This is the restaurant you impress your dining partner, be it a business meeting or a first date. Read more

I found this place to be better decorated than some of its other location. There are booths on the far right side. There are also two large round tables for larger parties. Near the center of the restaurant is a fish aquarium. The lighting is a bit dimmer. This restaurant does look a bit ancient. However, the food is good. I love its crispy spring rolls.
