After reading some excellent reviews, I decided to bring my husband here for his birthday dinner. Most of what we had were new to us but very tasty. I've always wanted to try jamon iberico and we were able to get our first taste of the famed iberico and it was indeed fantastic! It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more

It's one of our favourite go to places!!??? But this past Saturday was definitely not one of those days. Both my husband n I have been sick since sat night. Throwing up the entire night on sat n Sunday with runs. Not pleasant gotten very weak from something we ate at Joeys don mills n Lawrence. We may need to reconsider. ??? I took my son to Swiss Chalet two weeks ago for a chicken dinner (1/4 with fries). Consistently good. The waitress was attentive, and knew how to keep the baby at the table next door happy (crackers, crayons, drinks... STAT!). When my wife and I went out for dinner the next week, where did my son go? Swiss Chalet. He is somewhat of a picky eater... So, great review. Read more
