I had a business lunch here a week ago. The food was excellent, the service attentive and the atmosphere was excellent for a private conversation. Im not sure why the negative reviews. Its an italian restaurant why are you ordering steak and fries?? Their pastas are outstanding, the wood oven pizza is outstanding, the place is always busy or was at least before covid and Peroni on tap is great. Good espresso, good dessert the Nutella Pizza is sooo good. Its small, close quarters and certainly not private in any way, but thats what I like. We’ve been going to this restaurant for years. The quality and quality of the food is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. It is a family oriented restaurant where kids are welcome which is nice. And this from a senior senior. And the owner is environmentally aware, and has made changes to reduce the use of plastic before many others; and is respectful of his staff and so closes every year over the holiday period so staff can be with their family. Food was reasonably good, but nothing to rave about or complain about either. Portion sizes were a little large. We were on the patio which was fine, but the chairs were back-breakingingly awful and the patio and tables sort of gave the impression that things weren't all that clean. Wait staff was reasonably attentive but not overly friendly. The overall impression was one of a cramped, crowded space both inside and on the patio -too bad they couldn't expand their space. I've never written a review (and we enjoy our dinners out at various restaurants), but this place really deserves one! My husband and I drive from Pickering to have dinner here and it's always worth the drive! The ambience, service and food are all amazing! My favourite dish is the Arctic Char - it's so good that even my husband ordered it once (he's not one to order fish for dinner). He's stated that the lamb is the best he's ever had.
