This is the Mandarin we always go to in our home town. The staff is always friendly, cleanliness of the restaurant is always excellent, and the food and desserts are always bountiful and fresh! Hubby and I always look forward to a trip to London so that we travel back to Woodstock thru Thamesford. We always enjoy lunch at Tokyo Joes. Just there today, had two specials, my husband the burger and fries, myself, a Caesar Chicken wrap and fries. The fries were fresh & hot, the burger was homemade and the Caesar wrap was one of the best I have ever had, complete with fresh cooked bacon. Can't ask for more - even the bottomless coffee is great!

I went the other day with a couple of friends and I have to say it was a nice cozy place to spend the day with a couple of friends. The sushi was tasty, the service was great. They were so polite and friendly.
To the person below, this is Canada. Not Japan or anywhere else in Asia, where their specialties are Asian food. Also didn't help the fact you had high expectations going in which could have affected your overall impression. "Worst sushi" is not something I would use for this restaurant.
I definitely recommend it for a night out with your friends and family or even just a lunch with a friend.

Ive been coming here since i moved a couple minutes down the street almost 10 years ago and i have yet to be disappointed! Serving sizes are huge, and are all under 10 dollars. All the food i have tried has been amazing and i highly recommend the sesame chicken and mostly the shanghai noodles. Really great mom and pop restaurant, only negative is the limited seating but everyone orders take-out. Dont listen to the review beneath mine buddy has no idea whats good.

I come to this place because it is close proximity to where I live.
The atmosphere of this place is amazing. There are booths set up like Japanese-styled rooms, jazz music is played in the background (okay not authentic, but meh), the chopsticks are placed in either bamboo boxes or in mini-kimonos.
The food, well, it really depends on what your order. I give top marks to the rolls they have, and I especially recommend the Toronto and Monster rolls, those two are unique in their own ways. I didn't like their sushi and sashimis, found their fish rather not fresh. The ramen and udons are excellent. Tempura is a no-go.
Service-wise is quite wishy washy due to a lack of staff, especially if you're sitting by the booths. The ring for service technique is ineffective; even I can't tell how the mechanism will notify waitresses that you need assistance. They are very friendly though.
Will I visit again? Yes, of course. Just know what you're ordering. Hey, if you visit often, the chefs sometimes give something new for you to try!
