This Mandarin is still pretty new and clean inside so that is definately a big plus if cleaniness is important to you. The food selection is pretty good and some dishes are actually pretty good. The roast beef is good as well as their crab legs and fired shrimp. Kids really like going here. If you like buffets, give this location a try. Read more

Our family goes to this place all the time. We tried other buffet places and the food is not as good as here. I have food sensitivies to avocado and have made requests to make some dishes without it...and they were very accomodating. Maybe we are spoiled since we go there a lot and the owner has become familiar with us....oh well. When you like a place - Im sure you go there often. Yeah....it can get busy there so we know about the slow service at times.....But overall you cannot find a more homey place for sushi in Whitby - IMO. Go for lunch during the weekday and you do get pampered. For lunch I suggest getting the teriyaki stuff since there are NO sashimis. The Oishi Maki roll is really good. Read more

Food: Last week was my first time trying Koganei so I didn't get to try lots of food. However, Koganei roll was one of the best roll I ever had. it's bit pricey for a roll (almost $15 with tax) but it's worth it. I do not know exactly what's in the roll (it's shrimp tempura roll with some little bit spicy orange-red stuff with tiny fish eggs on the top) but it was amazing. (I wish red stuff on the top was more spicier though.) I also tried miso base noodle soup (noodles and veggies in miso soup) which was salty for my taste. did not really like it. Service: wait staffs were nice and helpful. when i went, there weren't many people in the restaurant so i didn't have to wait long to order and get my food. Atmosphere: table setting seemed little weird to me because little table for 2 people were placed right next to booth but decor was good. Read more

Went to this restaurant for the first time at lunch time. We had the lasagna, salad and garlic bread. The food was excellent and the staff is friendly and knows how to treat customers. This type of attitude makes you want to go back. We will certainly be telling our friends about this restaurant! Our next visit will be to bring family to eat here again. Read more
