When our oldest cat got sick, they were very thorough in trying to find out what was wrong and what the chances were of her living a normal life if we did surgery and/or medicated her. In the end, we decided it was best to let her go and they were extremely supportive and empathetic the whole time. We even received a sympathy card a few weeks later.
