I ordered take out online through their online ordering system, which is very fast and convenient for a lunch time take out order from my work. I got the curry chicken lunch special and with out realizing it, I was going to order an extra samosa thinking it wouldn't come with one because the price was so cheap. But to my surprise it came with the curry chicken, rice and a samosa. Most places for $7.50 you just get the chicken and rice so I was very satisfied with the amount of food and price. I also decided to get as hot as possible because most Indian places give you a mild at best even when you ask for as hot as possible (possibly because of the type of people that live in this area) and this was definitely hot. When we got there it was a little crazy inside because it was 12:30pm and the staff seemed to be rushing around but in all that rush two people had asked us if we were there for the pick up order or to dine in. We got our food quickly and 2 staff members (one of which who seemed like he may have been the owner) sparked up conversations with us while still doing their jobs. The flavour of the curry was great. I don't eat Indian curry as much as Thai curry (for any one who eats both, there is a big difference) but I have some what of an idea how Indian curries should taste. What was good: the price, the service, the food and the convenience is really great . What could be better: if it was an all you can eat buffet and the hours of operation seem to be really weird and the decor inside the restaurant seemed to have been from a pub that was there before it. This is a gem of a restaurant, tucked into a strip mall. Eaten there three times now, and consistently the food is fresh, tasty, and well prepared. i've been going to sing lee for years, and they are truly a gem on victoria street even after the management changes. their lunch specials are probably the best in town, the portions are fairly big and the food is always great! there are also so many choices that even as a regular customer, i have problems deciding on which dish to try! the service is friendly and very good for the style of restaurant it is, my husband and i are always greeted with a warm smile. place is also a lot tidier after the new owners have taken over. take out can be a bit slow when theyre busy, but we are willing to wait for a quality meal rather than restaurants who tend to put something mediocre together to conserve time. The food is perfect every time, staff is friendly, fast, and patient if you're not 100% sure what each dish is, and the location has a lot of parking and seating. I'm not sure why it took so long to try this place out, after all, it's only 5 minutes away from my house. I'm glad I did, as it was a nice surprise. Featuring quite a big menu, with some good specials, there is something for everyone here. As with most Chinese restaurants, the portions are very big, but I found the prices to be lower than normal. The quality of the food and the speed at which it was cooked was impressive. With the exception of the egg rolls (which are obviously precooked and heated up), everything tasted hot and fresh. Very friendly guys work there and delivery is free over a certain amount. They do need to add a tip column to their receipt when they deliver though! All in all, a great little Chinese take-out place that I will definitely use again. The 'Atmosphere' is pretty irrelevant since it's really only take-out. There are 3 or 4 tiny tables in there, but I can't imagine anyone using them. Read more
