I wandered into this "pizza" place completely by accident, drawn in by the intriguing, hand-printed signs promising "Butter Chicken Rolls" and a variety of kebabs. I decided to sample two Indian-style specials: the Chicken Biryani, and a Butter Chicken Roll. Both my dishes were ready in just about 12 minutes, and both were delicious. First, the Butter Chicken Roll. A generous portion was wrapped up in a soft and fluffy Naan bread, with a counterpoint of freshly chopped lettuce adding a cool and crispy texture that perfectly underscored this classic sauce-heavy dish. It was delicious, and a bargain to boot! While the Butter Chicken Roll was very, very good, the Chicken Biryani was on a whole other level. I have had Chicken Biryani countless times over the years, both in high end Indian restaurants as well as in dive-y hole-in-the-wall joints, but NEVER have I had Chicken Biryani quite like this before. It was, quite simply, the best Chicken Biryani I have ever had in my life. Jamal's super-authentic Hyderabad style seasoning and delicious falling-off-the-bone dark meat chicken (as it should be!) are now the Gold Standard by which I shall forever gauge my future encounters with this particular dish. At 4.99, it would be a bargain at TWICE the price they're asking. Read more

My wife and I stopped for dinner about a month ago. I had ordered the sausage and stewed tomatoes to try something different and was very surprised at how tasty it was. I remeber the beer selection was on the poor side. I do not remember them having any draft beer available. The service was very good and the flourless cake I had for desert was just incredible. I ordered the gnocci in tomato sauce, which was very good, and the bread was tasty. But for a meatless meal with no dessert and no appetizer, the prices are too high. It seems like you're paying for atmosphere. The service was pretty good, but at the end when it got busier we had to signal for service. I think there's better value out there for the money. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. This small place does it right! The food is absolutely excellent, and the wait staff are very helpful with a great attitude. Everyone in our party of six loved their dinners at Positano, plus the price was right, the service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Being able to bring our own wine was a nice bonus and lessens the impact on the wallet. The other nice thing was that they weren't rushing us out the door the minute we were finished, but allowed us to linger and chat. No wonder the place is packed. We came here in a rush with tickets to a show. The servers were understanding and did everything in their power to accommodate. They were wonderful! The entrees were delicious - nice solid, fresh ingredients and very nice flavour profiles. The stewed lamb with the tagliatelle was perfectly cooked. The tortellone with the ricotta, pecorino and the radicchio was just perfect...satisfying and memorable. As for the dessert, we both agree with another review on this board that this quite possibly could be the best tiramisu in the city. Overall, great service, great entrees, and an epic dessert.
