I was here with a large group seated in a separate area and we ordered so many things. I can only say it was all wonderful. The food was well prepared, good quality ingredients and it all tasted delicious. When they use higher end pork for your sweet and sour pork that is a positive sign. The service was excellent. We were a party of 14 and sat in the main restaurant area. The service was excellent. We brought our own wine and paid a low corkage fee. No hard liquor allowed of your own! Our host ordered a set menu and additional dishes. All items were prepared well and tasty excellent. My only comment would be there was two times where the individualized food plates came out too soon and I was still working on my previous dish so the table got crowded. LOVE! with so many options for Chinese in Victoria, you can't go wrong with Sampan Express. If you are looking for table side service, linen, candle light, may be a bottle of wine.....etc.. this would NOT be the place for you .
