Our waitress I think her name was Anita, but I could be wrong was very friendly and quick. The place is always clean, didn't have to wait for a table. I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Read more

I've eaten here a lot over the years and I just love the food. They give you a lot of food and it is very inexpensive. The vermicelli are wonderful especially with the jumbo shrimps. The coconut and durian shakes are amazing but I've unconsciously switched over to water over the years, I think im just self conscious about my weight. All the waitresses speak english but not too fluently but they are nice enough. Overall I love going to this place for the food they serve. Read more
