this is the first time i have ever decided to try out the actual authentic korean BBQ grilling experience instead of the canadian-nized all-you-can grill buffets and ohhh boy was it the best choice of my life! this place is not all you can eat so you only have a choice from eating one type of meat or the other but oh my gooodness, the meat here was sooo tender and juicy with sooooo much flavour to them! i swear to you this place serves up the best Galbi (beef short ribs) i have ever eaten and i'm sooo upset i didn't know about it soooner!! the Galbi here is ACTUAL MEAT, not the blubber stick of fat you'd find at other restaurants! the special grilling dish costs about $40 between 2 people (so basically $20 each) and it is sooo worth it as the portions are sooo huge along with all those side dishes they give you (more than 5! which can be refilled whenever you want) with also a hot stone tofu soup on the side. this place will give you a run for your money! serving on the menu says only for 2 people but can definetly serve up to 4! there was so much stuff left over to eat but in the end i wasn't able to finish it. :( so if you're ever craving for real korean meat, come here! this place realizes QUALITY over QUAINTITY. yum! I’ve been to Dog and Bear many times. It’s a traditional British style pub. It’s laid back and chill, not a place for an event but definitely a place to hang out with the friends and grab some pints. I have been going to Satay on the Road off and on for the better part of 15 years and have never once in that time had a disappointing meal. The food is always fantastic and despite having tried a myriad of different items I always come away from Satay satisfied. Of particualr note are one of the appetizers and one of the mains. First, the appetizer. Golden Baskets. They should call them by their full name...Golden Baskets of Amazing Tasty-ness with Just the Right Amount of Flavourful Spicy Goodness. I guess there isn't enough room on the menu for that though. These and the spring rolls are the perfect combo to kick off your meal. The second is Cashew Nut Chicken. I still hold Satay on the Road's Cashew Nut Chicken up as the gold standard for this dish. On a recent visit it made me miss Toronto...it is that good! The drinks list is kitschy too...they have their cocktail menu on those paper place-mats that used to be all the rage back in the '70s. Ah nostalgia. Anyway, located in the heart of Bayview Village...the area not the mall...Satay on the Road is a must dine for anyone who loves Thai and Malaysian food! Read more

We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more
