The Congee Star is some of the best Chinese food in Don Mills. For lunch, this place is a zoo! Come early or come late but DON'T come at 12 o'clock and expect a table right away unless you are Jet Li or Jacky Chan. The reason for this is the food is very good. By supper, the office crowd has retreated to the 'burbs from whence they came and getting a table right away is not a problem. Remember though, this is not a fast food factory, good food takes a little time. The beef with ginger and onions is excellent. As is the Cantonese chow mein. The beef brisket on lo mein is very tasty. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Booths are to be found on the outside and tables and chairs are in the middle. Read more

Wonderful place. You can mix-and-match to create your own perfect meal. The service is lovely, with sweet smiling servers and the food comes quickly. I've been there multiple times, never spent more than 20 dollars with the tip, and always left in a great mood. The atmosphere is nice with not many tables, and cute decor. My friends and I always enjoy Tokyo Kitchen. We've never been disappointed. The Gyoza are quite good. I tend to order the Donbury dishes and I go back again and again for them. My friends occasionally go for the ramen. They use the less common dark style with a touch of soy sauce in the broth. I'd recommend trying it at least once if you've only had light ramen before. The green tea icecream must be homemade. It's the most fantastic green tea icecream I've ever tasted. It's creamy and very mildly sweet with a real depth to the flavor - perfectly capturing the Japanese knack for subtle sweetness. Read more

I come here every couple of weeks when I'm in the area, a good hearty breakfast served promptly and cheerfully. Can't ask for much more than that! Parking is the only drawback, the lot is quite small and if the snow is piled up it can be a tight squeeze, that's why I rated it an 8 overall. I try to go to The Longest Yard once every week., and I have been since shortly after it opened. The staff and management are friendly and welcoming and the food is decently priced for the portion/quality you get. It's a 5 minute walk from Islington subway station so if you're planning on drinking, it definitely saves money on cab fare. If you drive, there's quite a bit of parking on Bloor and on Eagle (side street). They have one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and the beef is organic. They have other options as well, though the menu isn't fully organic. Every day, they have specials for dinner. Fish and Chips tend to be a special on Friday and Sunday night, and it's really good. The added bonus for me is that I'm a Baseball fan and The Longest Yard is the only place I go to where even if there's playoff Hockey and Basketball on, at least one TV will have Baseball and I won't be told "Sorry, nobody wants to watch Baseball." It caters to the family as well as the Sports fans. I was there for the Superbowl and for the Olympic Gold Hockey match. It's not the type of place where people go to get completely drunk, loud, and obnoxious though people are drinking. They also have contests during big events where you can win prizes and even cash! We've been going to family-run Pho Saigon since it opened. Many go for the Pho, but we go for the Bun: rice noodles and salad with your choice of toppings. Our favourites are crispy spring roll, shrimp on sugarcane, grilled Vietnamese sausage, or grilled meats. It makes for a tasty and satisfying meal with a nice contrast of textures. A deliicious Vietnamese coffee, iced in the summer, is a nice finish to the meal. The food is reasonably priced, the service is usually prompt and owners are friendly. Lots of free parking. My husband and I love Sushi........ so we have been to alot of different resturants in the city. We stumbled into Kumo one night just before Christmas, the place was empty and we were a little nervous at first but decided to stay anyways. The place smelt amazing, no sign of fishy-ness anywhere ( I refuse to eat at any sushi resturant that smells of fish) The wonderful and energenic waitress came over and offered some sugestions to start, she suggested the sushi Terimsu 9unsure of spelling) my husband is always up for trying something new but I like my usual rolls and sashimi so I decided that I would try some of his instead of getting two. Let me tell you...... I think my husband got 1 bite. It was amazing!! We ordered a big party tray for dinner, the specialty rolls ( godzilla, spicy girl, kipling, superman) are the best I have ever had! Sushi servings are massive, fish is incredible fresh. The chef is absolutly amazing at what he does, we have been back 3 more times and now leave everything up to him, his home made sauces simple extra touches make the meal!!! By far the best sushi in Toronto!!!!!!!! Things I would recomend......... Sushi Teramisu Sushi Sandwitch Heavenly Tower Godzilla Roll Superman Roll Tuna Dumplings.....
