Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. This small place does it right! The food is absolutely excellent, and the wait staff are very helpful with a great attitude. Everyone in our party of six loved their dinners at Positano, plus the price was right, the service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Being able to bring our own wine was a nice bonus and lessens the impact on the wallet. The other nice thing was that they weren't rushing us out the door the minute we were finished, but allowed us to linger and chat. No wonder the place is packed. The waiter that sat us down was extremely nice as was the waitress serving us. The enthusiastic attitude of both of them definitely made this place having amazing service. The service is not the same at the Casey's near AMC in Scarborough. The service here was outstanding. The atmosphere needs no mentioning as its a given with a chain of what to expect - the same thing as last time. The grilled chicken on salad was above average. Read more

We have gone to this restaurant over a dozen times and always are pleased with our meal. For the price, you really can't beat it. The atmosphere is very nice. It's a big restaurant and the tables are spaced apart nicely so you can have a conversation without worrying about everyone around you hearing. And they have great big circular booths that are usually available - a great touch. We have our regular server - I believe his name is Pavel - and he's fantastic. He's not pushy, he's unobtrusive and always friendly. One of the city's best waiters for sure. When it comes to the food, the taste is great. I usually enjoy a pasta as a main and for appetizers we mix it up. The selection is great and I've never had a meal I didn't enjoy. The prices are fantastic. For a downtown Toronto restaurant like this I'm always amazed when I get the bill. Often times we have two appetizers, two entrees and a full bottle of wine and the bill still comes to under $100. On a long street with bountiful options for where to eat, I could see how this place might get passed by. When we entered it was not very busy but the atmosphere was very welcoming. We were there for a Sunday lunch so we all ordered coffee to start, they have a decent cafe au lait. The menu had a great variety with excellent prices! All of the entree salads were only $8. After ordering, we waited a really long time for our food, especially since it wasn't busy at all. However, when the food came out it was all divine! The pizza's were very large for one person and the crust was excellent. Omelette's and eggs benedicts were enjoyable as well. A neat thing about this place is that you have the option of half fries, half salad for your side with any entree. Overall, a good experience with decent prices but if you are in a rush I would suggest you go elsewhere because the service was very leisurely. Read more

Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Read more

The food was magnificent, that's the only reason we will be coming back again for sure. The atmosphere is bad: it's very dark, loud and very, very, very tight. The service isn't the greatest either. Although the waitresses are very nice, but they're in their own world sometimes walking around dreaming or changing music when customers are waiting. We've waited just for our check for about 30 minutes. I don't understand why they don't allow carry-out - they would be making tons of cash with their diamond in the kitchen. I was in Shakey's a year ago and it has completely changed, I visited recently with some girlfriends and we had a fantastic meal. The owner has renovated the entire place to give it a 2010 pub look and has still kept the theme of a sports bar. Good job on the reno's, the menu looks great with some of the typical sports pub food such as nachos, hamburgers and wings. However the rest of the menu is quite amazing, from my understanding the waitress mentioned that Chris is a new addition to the staff and is the brother of the owner. We all had something different, but all was delicious! Our relatives are fussy eaters, so this restaurant is a rare gem indeed! My fillet of sole and escargots were delicious, my husband loved his steak & frites, my mother loved her liver dish, my uncle raved over the French onion soup and lamb chops. Desserts were delicious. My boyfriend had planned a surprise birthday party at Kamasutra. I showed up at the restaurant thinking I was in for a quiet dinner with him, but he had my friends & family waiting at the restaurant without my knowing. Service & the food was fantastic.
