Last night we decided to go out and try a restaurant we had never been to before. My husband said he felt like Indian food so we decided to try Curry's. What an enjoyable experience! Starting off we were presented with refreshing lime water, the decor was very classy with low lighting and Indian music faintly playing in the background. Our candlelit table was soon laden with scrumptious food starting with an appetizer called Onion Bhaji, six pieces of shredded onion breaded with spiced chickpea batter. Since we follow a vegetarian diet, we decided upon Vegetable Tandoori Masala as our main course. The spicy curry tomato was paired with fresh hot green chillies, spices and vegetable pllao creating an authentic Indian flavor. "Best curry I have ever tasted" was my husbands comment. Our waiter was very polite and attentive and filled out stainless water glasses on numerous occasions with a smile. I would highly recommend Curry's Restaurant for anyone looking for high quality Indian fare served in a fine dining setting.

I absolutely adore this place! I was recommended the Knotty Pine when I was told about their very inexpensive breakfast special. I didn't know what to expect for $5 but I was very impressed.
The atmosphere is very quiet (partially due to the carpeted floor) and cozy. I love it! The background music is gentle and not blaring.
The waitresses have been very polite, friendly and efficient!
The breakfasts are probably typical breakfast fare, but it's been quick, hot, and they've had my order bang on every time!
My friend and I finally got around to having a dinner instead of breakfast last week, and we were not disappointed! Perhaps small portions on the vegetables, but not on the meet or potato!
The hot turkey sandwich was piled high! :)
And might I add... the coffee is excellent.
Any time I'm at White Oaks I'm tempted to pop in, and I'm sure I'll be making many more trips in the future!
Oh... and they JUST updated their menu with a few new things on it!

When I was told we were going here for dinner I was no amused. Boring bad bar food is all I could think of but biy was I surprised. We visited on a Friday night and were greeted by an extra happy gent who showed us to a nice comfy booth. Our waitress was equally as cheery -- like REALLY cheery. She told us the specials, filled up our cups without asking and was super fast on her feet. The fish and chips were outstanding. The 2 fish portions were huge and not too battery, the fries were just okay. The steak was cooked perfectly. I got the mushroom salad with grilled chicken and was blown away by the taste and size -- salads usually disappoint. VERY happy and probably will return.

Great Food!! Friendly service! Decided to come back with some friends and tried the combo#2 plate last night. Place was pretty busy. A little bit of a wait but not more than other places considering the size of the place. I'm now a fan of Pupusas. My friends had some combo #1 and some plantains. The Food did not disappoint. My first visit was pleasant enough. We were greeted right away and accomodated for our party of 5. At first I was not really impressed with only the 'make your own stirfry' option for dinner but was told it was excellent. Tons of selection of meats, veggies and sauces...wasn't sure where to start! Guys at the fryer seemed to really enjoy their jobs, it was very entertaining to watch. Food was really yummy. Atmosphere was alright, didn't really notice any defectives like others are posting. Waitress was somewhat reliable in refilling our drinks. When it comes to tipping, the guys at the fryer really earn theirs however not sure about the waitresses as all they did was bring us water....nothing from the menu was ordered. The only downside to this place is the price (15.99 per person Mon-Thurs is the deal we did) but I guess for others it's an awesome price for the food.

I have had the Chef's Hat Catering company cater many of my events as well as been at functions that they have catered. The food is excellent - it's fresh and plenty of it. In fact, there has always been more food than we can eat. The staff are very professional and helpful when you don't know what to order. They help with quantities for groups. The last event I was at, everyone there complimented the Chef's Hat and plan to use them for their functions. I personally have gone there for lunch and have found the staff to be friendly and you can't beat the lunch specials. Excellent price for the amount of food you get. Keep up the good work!

We were in the mood for something different, a place with a patio and music but not a place where you weren't able to move or order anything without waiting in line. We made a good choice in going to Fitzrays. We all tried something different and everyone was happy with their food (apparently the veggie burger is outstanding, i am a meatalohic though so i'll take her word for that one). The staff was very attentive and got everything right, and made sure we always had a full beverage. There was some guy playing guitar - Graham something - who was very good and not too loud. We may end up going here every Friday in the summer.

Most food is locally sourced and the beer has a local theme too. Sonita tries to get beer from within 100 miles of the pub, and a lot of the food is sourced from the same area. The menu is upscale pub food with a seasonal twist. Spring Leek Salad, Local Lamb, Crab Apple Salad, fondue with cheese made with local beer, etc.I usually get the fondue as the portion is huge and it is about $10.00, or I get wings in the evening when they are half price. FIre and ice are great!The place has a large patio which is usually fairly busy. Inside, it is typical pub decor with a homey feel to it. Pub quiz night is a solid night to go on to get to know the owners and regulars. I find it better to go to the bar to order your drinks, as table service can be a bit lacking. Taps total 20, including Railway City, Stratford, Creemore,Black Oak, Great Lakes, Steamwhistle, and the bottle selection is limited but has included many micros. I’ll return for the harder to get Ontario micros they seem to always get. Worth checking out.

My colleague and I visited London for a conference (Apr 11-14, 2011) and we were told by another colleague (who lived in London for a year) that this sushi place is great. We arrived and was taken aback by the all-you-can-eat-price of 25.99 plus tax per person. Back in suburban Toronto, the prices would range from 18.99-23.99 and you would only find 25.99 all you can eat prices at expensive downtown Toronto restaurants. The menu was disappointing because although the menu list looked large, it really was just one column of things to pick from. (The right side column was just the English translation.) By the second round of order, we found ourselves looking at the menu and saying "Well we already had spicy salmon rolls but I guess we'll order that again..." There really was a lack of variety for the price we paid. As well, there was no unlimited shrimp tempura, soup, or salad - these were just a one time order per table. There was no ice cream for dessert either. In terms of the food, there was the good and the bad. The miso soup was delicious! The tempura was ok. The sushi salmon/tuna rolls were pretty good. There was a weird roll - asparagus roll, in which it was a single small piece of asparagus within the roll. It almost looked like a green pea roll! The sweet potato roll was not good - the sweet potato was undercooked. Overall, the rolls weren't tightly wrapped and sometimes fell apart as you picked it up. Another complaint was the sushi - there was too much rice that it was almost a ball of rice underneath the fish rather than the usual flat rectangular piece of rice. The service was pretty good. The server was attentive and nice. The restaurant is a family business and we showed up late in the night. It was endearing to watch that the family sit together at the end of the night to eat their dinner after a hard day at work.

I find myself at this place multiple times during the week. I go for breakfast one day, lunch the next, and then for dinner another day, and I'm usually there for the nights events. They have great concerts, great food, the staff, at least the bartenders and bouncers are all fantastic and some of my good friends, and the service is more often than not fast and helpful. Just the other day after going to this place for a year and a half, had my first bad experience with service, but after mentioning it to the manager, everything got sorted out and I still had an excellent meal even though it was a bit slower than usual.
And their drinks are fantastic. I've only had one bad drink there and that was after they just started a new barrel so the beer was a bit watery - I just asked for a new one and they gave it to me no problem.
I can't say enough good things about this place. I never turn down an invite to this place.

Of course, it goes without saying that the hamburgers are second to none, and there's chicken and fish if you are that way inclined, but the lesser known salads are the best value in town, especially the Mandarin Chicken salad which, at $6.99, can not be beaten anywhere ... in my opinion. I love this place! Whenever I am near the market and I am in the mood for a quick lunch I go here. You pick your container of lettuce and then pile on whatever veggies/cheese/protein you like. (The deal is 3 veggies/1 cheese/1 protein). And add sunflower seeds or croutons and dressing of your choice. I love it cuz I can customize the salad to what I want and not a set combination. My usual is romaine w/broccoli, celery, carrot, avocado, feta, and chicken with oil and vinegar dressing.
The veggies are always fresh and the people working there are always friendly. They also give a packet of melba toasts with each salad.
