I reccomend this place for familes/kids/ grandma and grandpa... They have the biggest and best breakfast at a great price...the home fries are home made.. the soup of the day is ALWAYS good and home made...The meals are huge and come with a soup or salad and bread... you cannot go wrong here.. best food on the menu: steaks, souvlaki, club sandwich, western sandwich, eggs benedict and the gravy is home made so get a hot turkey open faced sandwich with lots of gravy and home made mashed potatoes! I discovered this restaurant a couple months after the new owners took over. They have created the most welcoming atmosphere that makes me feel at home. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is absolutely fantastic. It would be a mistake to drive past without stopping in to see for yourself! Meet the wonderful people and have a great home cooked meal. And It would be a shame not to try their fresh pecan butter tarts for dessert. I always take a box to go. Read more

I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit! And the patio?
