Took my boyfriend for his birthday lunch on 01 Feb and ordered off the Winterlicious menu. Each course was perfectly presented and just right, portion-wise. When dessert came, they had put a candle on his plate along with "Joyeux Anniversaire" written in chocolate along the edge. A very nice touch! I've been to this restaurant twice now and both times the food has been great. But I was there with my husband's family last night for my father-in-law's birthday. My mother-in-law had brought a birthday cake to the restaurant and had asked them to bring it out as a surprise when it was time for dessert. Everything was going great until the server informed my mother-in-law (just before they were about to bring his birthday cake out) that we would be charged $10 just for them to bring it out! We said forget it, and we took the cake home and had it there! We would have ordered coffees and cafe au laits to go with the cake, so they certainly would have made at least another $20 off of that, but it's their loss I guess. So to summarize, the food was excellent as usual, but we were very disappointed that they wouldn't accommodate our birthday cake with out a steep charge - it left a bad taste in our mouth. Read more

I had the grilled seabass (fantastic) and my wife had a steak also good. The wine selection is honest and earthy with emphasis on portuguese and well priced. The food was magnificent, that's the only reason we will be coming back again for sure. The atmosphere is bad: it's very dark, loud and very, very, very tight. The service isn't the greatest either. Although the waitresses are very nice, but they're in their own world sometimes walking around dreaming or changing music when customers are waiting. We've waited just for our check for about 30 minutes. I don't understand why they don't allow carry-out - they would be making tons of cash with their diamond in the kitchen. Still, with all those negative things, we will be coming back for the food. Read more
