I work in customer service, so I understand that things don't always go as planned. It is how an establishment deals with their mistakes that really shows how good they are , in my humble opinion. We go to Swiss Chalet all the time, the food is always hot and delicious and up to the Swiss Chalet Standard, the service is usually pretty good, quick for sure and the restaurant smells good and is clean. We often order take out from this location, and we have had a few problems, orders not being filled correctly, no gravy for the poutine, little things like that. One time we ordered and they called back 30 minutes later to tell us there was a snow storm and the delivery person went home! Needless to say I complained. I got a personal response from the Manager appologizing for our bad experience and comping us for two 1/4 chicken dinners! WOW, I thought that was just great. I get that mistakes are made, but I have never had anyone take responsibility and compensate me so quickly and politely! Since then we have ordered a few times and we haven't had anymore problems. I've been going to Mandarin restaurants with my family since I was a kid. It's been years since I've gone, and it's every bit as fun and delicious as I remember. Also, the staff at this particular location were lovely. Very attentive, polite, and helpful. In fact, it was the service that inspired me to leave this review. A fine location for a Canadian staple! This is such a comfy cozy place, and has free wireless internet access. I come here a lot for coffee, serve myself, stand at the counter to pay, and read the paper while I sit right by the window to drink it. I ate there once, but I can't remember what I had. It was expensive. I don't think I'd eat there again because nothing on the menu really appealed to me. Even the baked goods look kind of bland and overpriced. Read more
