Pho Dau Bo is probably the only Vietnamese restaurant in Bram-Bram that does not trace its history to the original Pho Peter (my favourite) in some way. This eatery is part of a small chain covering Golden Horseshoe that opened way back in 1996. The Brampton location is a relatively new one having opened in 2006 but going strong. The food here is good, very good. The portions are generous, unless you haven't eaten for a month or have the metabolism of a cheetah, this is a meal in a bowl. The waitresses are courteous. No attitude here. When asked for extra ganish it was brought promptly and with a smile, unlike the downtown Toronto eateries where I was given the impression that they had to fight an ill-tempered chef for it and, even after winning the battle, it came out of their paycheques. The pho is hot and tasty, the way it should be. The garnishes are fresh, not brown and wilted like something ready for the compost pile. The meat is lean and there is lots of it. All in all, pho worth writing to the rellies about. For a Vietnamese restaurant the decor/atmosphere is fine. Don't expect a fancy place but do expect good food. After a couple of visits, this place is definitely threatening to unseat my fave. Read more

I went here for lunch on a windy day with my mom. The first thing you see is a big case of baked goods and the simple yet elegant decor. We were very pleased to see homemade soup on the menu. The waitress was very friendly and made suggestions at our request. We decided to go with soup - tomato and mushroom barley. The soup came in generous sized bowls, biscuits and bread. The soup was very good. I preferred the mushroom barley as it was more savoury, thick and filling, delicately herbed with dill, etc. The tomato was obviously homemade, but a little sweet and a little bland for my tastes, but I'm particular about soup. They also had a sausage soup which according to the waitress was excellent. The homemade biscuits were ok but nothing to write home about. We ordered tea and the waitress attentively kept coming back to refill hot water. We saved room for dessert, and the baking case looked amazing. Particularly good-looking was the golden flaky pastry of the butter tarts and the fruit pie, but we were craving chocolate and their turtle cookies were what we eventually choose. While these cookies were small they were very decadent, rolled in nuts and topped with homemade caramel. One of the first italian pasta restaurants I've been to where I was actually impressed. The "Fusilli Jerry" was absolutely delectable...a definite favourite. My rule for pasta is: if I can make better at home, it's not worth paying it elsewhere. Lets just say I have not found another restaurant where I feel this rule does not apply. Read more

I always enjoy the menu at Milestones. I have one concern. The wine list unbelievably does not have ONE Ontario wine in its selection of wines that are all international. Its hard to believe that in our Niagara region we produce some of the worlds best wines at very good prices and Milestones doesn't have even one red and white available. Please correct this for your customers. Our group were mystified when they looked at the wine list and all agreed this was an oversight at a good restaurant. Read more

Well all i can say is they must have improved the food since the reviews here were written.. we recently stopped in on a saturday afternoon.. we ordered burgers and fries and the burgers were HUGE slabs of sirloin beef , cooked to perfection and very very tasty. The fries were good, and the sweet potato fries were AWESOME. our server was friendly, fast and attentive. Yes the place is dark, but its supposed to be. Had a great experience at Egglicious! Ive been here a couple times and it is also great from the friendly staff to the fresh and most flavourfull food you can ever find in Toronto. They have lots of Skillet Omelettes and Lots of Lunch Items. I had my Egglicious Skillet Omelette(What a omelette with bacon,ham, chedder cheese with hollandaise sauce). My wife had the Lumberjack & she loved it. The food is amazing, The staff's are very friendly, The place is clean. Even the restaurant was packed our food came on time. Lumberjack 3eggs,bacon(perfectlly cooked),sasage,homefries(the best),pancakes,fruit,toast for $9.95(good deal). My skillet was 8.95 . (not a lot of breakfast joints have skillet omelette). I would recomend this place to anyone.. The quality of the food to price.. You won't find it anywhere in Toronto. Even our next table was saying the samething about the food.
