I love middle Eastern food but it's hard to find a restaurant that does it good. And my partner's a vegan and there's so much here to eat.

The pasta at Old Spaghetti Factory is good to eat and you get decent value for the money. The pasta can tend to be ordinary from the perspective of the selections but they put together good food and they offer a fun atmosphere and decor that makes them a good family restaurant for when you are downtown with your family. Check out the OId Spaghetti Factory!Read more

Going along Broadway I have noticed the restaurant many times and finally decided to drop in for brunch to give it a go. We sat outside, we didn't mind waiting for a table there. Service was fine and the food came fairly soon. I had an excellent smoked ham benedict which came with cubed fries and a very fresh salad.Read more

Made to order sandwiches on wonderful chewy bread. We tried the pork and the fish varieties accompanied by our side choices of pickled vegetables and green salad. All tasted fresh and tasty and unique blend. The brewed unsweetened iced tea was a nice finish. The restaurant has this wooden, rustic open feel. There is an entrance on both Powell and Alexander streets. Sufficient street pay parking at the edge of gastown.Read more

The restaurant is located just shy of chinatown on main in a less traffic area with plenty of access to street parking. We tried their spicy tuna belly roll, fried chicken wings and crispy market fish which was very moist inside We also had their chocolate cake and ovalatine creme brulee which was pretty good and so Asian. All the dishes were creative and tasty. A nice casual atmosphere to share some bites and Asian beers.Read more

My wife and I used to love strolling the city and ending up at the Irish Heather for a pint (or three) and some fantastic authentic pub fare. This was in their original location. Then, we had a family and it took us a while to get back but we finally got back to check out their new digs and new menu. While the beer selection is still fantastic we were disappointed in the overall vibe. The food was still good but the value took a bit of a hit from their original location. While it was a great experience overall we still miss the original.Read more

This restaurant has some of the most interesting decor I have ever seen. It looks like my vision of a mediterranean restaurant from the '70s...which makes it even funnier that this is a Thai restaurant. All that aside, the food forgives all mistakes the decor makes. They make a very decent cashew nut chicken and all of their yellow and green curry options are really good. The spring rolls are outstanding and the sauce makes them even better. Hit the Thai House next time you're looking for really good Thai food.Read more

Call me a die-hard but I liked it better when these stores were all called Radio Shack. That said they are still the same in a lot of respects. This is still the place to go for all kinds of audio and video doodads that you just won't find all in one place without going to the Source. What's more is that they offer a great selection of other unique products that aren't often available anywhere else like USB devices that capture 35mm slides. They have done a good job in keeping with the times too and are quite a major Bell Mobility dealer and offer a selection of flat screen TVs and computer accessories too.Read more

Whole Foods opened their first location at Park Royal and I eagerly awaited their arrival at Cambie Street when i saw the sign go up that they were locating their. Little did I realize that this meant the demise of my favourite Capers location just up the street at 16th and Cambie. For that reason it has taken me a long time to warm to this store. This store does not have the same vibe as the West van store but I think that is partly due to the space they have to work with. That said, they carry the best selection of organic and natural and special diet products in Vancouver. The prices are reasonable, if not a little steep at times but they often have specials that take the bite out of the grocery bill a little. They are the store to buy organic dairy products as the organic milk is the cheapest in town on a daily basis. The meat department is a full service butcher and everything is clean and fresh looking...that said the meat can tend to be a bit pricey. The bakery is good and the ready to go foods are always yummy. All in all this is a pretty good store and great for those of us who try to maximize the organic foods that we eat.Read more

You need to check your grocery carts and repair the ones with wonky wheels. Last year, I tried five carts before finding one that did not make a loud embarrassing kerclunk, kerclunk sound as I pushed it through the store! I keep thinking, with all the money you make from hard working Canadians you just do not seem to care about this. Also, it is a real pain to when you have to retrieve the looney several times and then insert it into one that works as it should!!!

Awesome home made noodles, won tons and spring rolls.
I just happened upon this spot which is a little out of the way but the food was amazing. I had to ask if it was all hand made and John came out of the kitchen to chat. He was really kind and looked cool in his whites and chefs hat.
He makes everything fresh on the premises.
Service was "ok" we were never asked fr drinks etc, the waitress seemed uninterested but that is OK as the food was great
