I hosted my birthday party this past April at Casa Manila (group of 30!) I was esctastic to discover that they hosted a Sunday brunch buffet with their top menu selections. Mila was my contact and she was AMAZING. Food was absolutely delicious! I had several guests with a diverse array of dietary restrictions (including vegetarian and no pork). Katsura is tucked away in a separate, but connected, building right beside the main building of the Prince Hotel. The food here is very good but only slightly better than the cheaper places in the area. The teppanyaki tables are good. The sushi is fresh. The prices are high and the portions are not particularly large. So why would someone choose this place over its cheaper competitors? It's the decor and the service that makes this place stand out. From the moment you step in out of the snow, you are surrounded by tasteful Japanese decor. In the main dining area, the place is elegant, simple and to the point. When ordering dishes with vegetables staff allows you to choose your own vegetables. When ordering spicy dishes you can change how much spice you want. Package nice order takers are very nice. I found this place to be better decorated than some of its other location. There are booths on the far right side. There are also two large round tables for larger parties. Near the center of the restaurant is a fish aquarium. The lighting is a bit dimmer. This restaurant does look a bit ancient. However, the food is good. I love its crispy spring rolls.
