My friends and I went after a day of XC skiing and had a wonderful evening. The meal started with a complimentary bowl of homeade chickpea soup topped with fresh cilantro - delicious. I ordered the super tasty melt in your mouth lamb shish kebab.
BTW - we loved it so much we bought some the owner's 'secret spice' to take home with us!

Came to Sante with friends from out of town who wanted delicious food in a snazzy environment with a great view. Sante was the clear choice. We were seated in a wonderful table which overlooked the Chateau Laurier and Sussex drive. Our meal was wonderful, fresh, tasty, and beautiful executed. Service was good, our server was very knowledgeable and recommended our wine which we loved. Only negative was the cappuccino machine was not working, so we settled for a coffee.

Wow, this is miles better than most sushi places in town, including some that claim to be authentically Japanese and then go on to charge you $25/person for *crunchy* sashimi (yes, you read that right). I came here for lunch a few months ago and was very impressed. We arrived just as the place opened up; the upstairs dining area had not been opened yet. Regardless, I asked if we could have a table on the upper level and the wait staff accommodated our request and opened up the upstairs area and we were given the option to have our choice of any table we wanted. We chose a table on the North side of the restaurant with a great view of the By-ward Market. My burger tasted a little dry but as I had never tried buffalo or bison before I didn't know if that was normal or not. Aside from that the atmosphere was so nice I probably would have even enjoyed a bad meal in that restaurant, sitting where I was.

I go there very often with my family. We all love the food. Obviously, Chinese food in Ottawa pales in comparison to what Hong Kong offers but Cafe Orient's food is the best I can find that reminds me of home. The pricing is pretty decent considering one main dish can be shared among 2 people along with a small appetizer.

Went there with my friend for breakfast.
Server was great, very friendly and always topped up our coffe.
We each had eggs with hashbrowns and toast.. yumm
we ordered a waffle too.. the waffles are huge but kind of expensive. So if you order them make sure you are hungry!
We also ordered the turtle cheesecake for dessert. yum
we had such a great experience we had left the server a nice big tip.

We recently visited Juniper to celebrate our 1st anniversary. It was a completely satisfying experience. With only the knowlege that it was a "special date" , the professional staff gave us a very memorable experience. We shared a pot sticker appetiser loaded with fresh flavour and perfectly embellished with truffle oil and shitake mushrooms. As a treat Eric the sommelier brought a wonderful glass of Italian Brut. Eric suggested a perfect "bridging wine" for our mains (tuna and bison). The wines, the attentive but not intrusive service, Eric's knowledge and expertise, as well as wonderful extra "surprises" added up to a memorable evening.
