Growing up in Georgetown, Sushi wasn't exactly a mainstay in town. After moving back and finding more than one Sushi place in town, it was clear the town was changing and catching up to the rest of the world. Still...Sushi in Georgetown? I was skeptical... Walking into Yo-Yo's, it was like I had completely stepped out of town into another world. Nothing like I had expected. The service and atmosphere alone make this place worth visiting. Is it the best Sushi I've ever had? No...in fact, the other place in town is actually tastier (and all you can eat), but lacks the same charm that Yo-Yo's has. It's a little pricey, but worth it! And while I say the other place has better tasting sushi (my opinion), that's not to downplay this place...it's still fantastic food! Read more

Today was my first visit to Hockey Sushi. I was more than impressed! The service was FAST, and they food was amazing. So much variety. The concept of this buffet so so unique, but it makes so much sense! Everyone can get what they want, with little to now waste, and no contamination from other guests. I used to live in the neighborhood of this restaurant and would frequent it often. It is certainly not the least expensive Japanese restaurant in the city but I'd be hard pressed to find a better one. The sushi is always fresh and well made, Maki rolls are seasoned with chives and wasabi. Gyoza and Miso Soup are good, as expected, two things that can't really be done wrong. In the past I've had their lunch bento boxes which are a good value and are of the same quality as their dinner menu. Only complaints I'd have about this restaurant: Parking is not provided so you're at the mercy of the local pay lots. Also, when the restaurant gets really busy it gets very tight as it is a small place, and service gets really slow, But with that being said the owners are very kind and friendly. Overall, a very good restaurant with excellent food. Read more

We have been going to this restaurant as a family, once or twice a month for the last 4 years. The food is always fresh. The service always friendly, personable and excellent. The menu is as varied as you want to see. We have entertained numerous visiting friends and relatives from different parts of the world at this restaurant. I love this place! Their sushi is actually DELICIOUS!!! I'm always full after I go here...in fact, I vomited once from being too full. I love that they have stamp cards!!! So fun!! Their signature 'hockey sushi' is seriously SLAMMIN!!! However, I discovered a fish bone in the sushi once...and upon closer inspection, I found out that the outer layer of the hockey sushi is actually fish skin! This turned me off! I wish I hadn't made that discovery because this roll is fantastic. The location is fairly remote... my GPS was going completely NUTS on the way here.
