I recently had lunch (3rd time) at Envers of Morriston, and WOW. What an amazing little secret just south of Guelph. The food was amazing, and watching the Chefs walk out to the garden and get the vegetables and herbs that were going into my food was refreshing. The food was absolutely amazing. This place is overpriced for what you get. My friend and I shared a light dinner, a glass of wine each and tea, and our bill (with tip and tax) came to $100. I ordered the gnocci in tomato sauce, which was very good, and the bread was tasty. But for a meatless meal with no dessert and no appetizer, the prices are too high. It seems like you're paying for atmosphere. The service was pretty good, but at the end when it got busier we had to signal for service. I think there's better value out there for the money. Seemed like a lot of people there could "expense" their dinners, which explains the crowd. Read more

It is a friendly restaurant. The waitresses are nice. The fish (sashimi) was very fresh, but the salmon and tuna were cut in a big chunk (too thick to eat). The the noodles of Nabeyaki Udon were too hard (normally japanese udon should be chewy). The soup of the udon is just a soy sauce soup based with some fish cakes, a shrimp tempura and a fish tempura. The tempura served with the noodles became soggy. The Uni sushi was fresh and the price is good ($6.50 per order). The vegetable tempura dinner is so so. The vegetable tempura were in big chunk, not crispy enough. The sauce of the tempura is okay. I saw other people in the next table who had bento box dinner. Those bento box dinners looked good to me. This was our second visit and it was better than the first. We arrived after the dinner rush so the volume level was good. Great food and service. We'll definitely be back again. The lighting seemed to be improved upon since our first visit 2 years ago. Will have to try out the new Richmond Hill location also. Read more
