I've been here a number of times and I'm never disappointed! Its a great place to bring friends to try something delicious and unique. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I was there on a recent Saturday evening at 5:30 and had to wonder, though, why the hostess felt compelled to inform me that my table was booked at 7:30. It felt rather rude and unwelcoming. I have never been there for dinner, but for $5 martinis I go whenever I can ;) It has a great laid back atmosphere. Perfect for an after dinner drink without all the noise of a club or lounge. $5 Martinis until 12 can't be beat and with nearly 100 varieties, I have yet to try them all but I try to get different ones each time. If you want to snack on something well you drink get there before 1. Great place to go as a group, but get there around 9 before it starts to fill up. Ask if the back room is available. Great little private area if you have enough people. Nothing wrong with the service but nothing exceptional either. Read more

i went to the midtown on saturday and we (birthday party 0f 34 ppl) had such an amazing time that i had to write a review. I don't uderstand what the last reviewer could complain about. The food was really fresh and you have to try their pizzas-amazing! The service was great and the door staff were so nice that they escorted all our party from the street and righ into the front door. always love their dj too! midtown is always a good time. i recommend it if you want good food and a great time without the club shi-shi-ness. sorry for the long review...but the midtown rocks! Wonderful place. You can mix-and-match to create your own perfect meal. The service is lovely, with sweet smiling servers and the food comes quickly. I've been there multiple times, never spent more than 20 dollars with the tip, and always left in a great mood. The atmosphere is nice with not many tables, and cute decor. The first thing i notice when i walked into POGUE MAHONES was that all the waitresses wore plaid thigh-length skirts - i am glad i arrived here! It is a kind of dark place with dark wood all over. Also it is a very busy and noisy place, i can barely hear myself talking. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive as they came back every once in awhile to check on our needs a few times. All of our food arrive fresh and hot. My coffee was fresh and scalding hot, it came in a generous sized mug too. My seafood chowder was hot and it was very creamy, not bad! My chicken wings were satisfactory, no complaints here! Okay now my Grand Spuds with irish-poutine-style sucked!!! The fries had melted cheese and gravy on top, but the freshcut homemade fries, tasted totally off. My friend who had fries in his dish also complained about the fries tasting YUCK! My other friends were very satisfied with their dishes (fish n chips, liver n onions w mashed potato, chicken pot pie w mashed potatoes, jambalaya). Good service, satisfactory food, unpleasant atmosphere (too noisy)... would i visit again? i dont think i will. Overall satisfactory! Read more
