We just finished up with our first time ever Thursday night steak dinner. Wow! Truly tender and full of that beef flavour we are all looking for. The value you get for half the price as the big players like the kegs. We are playing our next evening out to see if this was a one time perfect steak. After seeing *some* favourable reviews and while in the Yorkdale area, I decided to try this place out. So I hope that I'm not being biased after reading unfavourable reviews about their service. We ordered Hwe Dup Bap (sashimi salad) and a dumpling soup with clear noodles - sorry, I don't remember the name. Shortly after placing ordering, 5 side dishes were brought out. Their flavours varied and they were yummy! The salad was perfect for a light, late lunch. Lotsa flavour, especially after adding the sweet/spicy chilli sauce which was provided in a squeeze bottle! My bf said that the dumpling broth was okay. Service-wise, side dishes were taken away, not replenished. And I had to ask for our tea to be refilled! Waitresses seemed waaay more attentive to a table of Korean men. Maybe it's because waitresses are more comfortable speaking their own language. So although service wasn't terrible per se, be a bit proactive to get even better service! Read more

I've eaten here a lot over the years and I just love the food. They give you a lot of food and it is very inexpensive. The vermicelli are wonderful especially with the jumbo shrimps. The coconut and durian shakes are amazing but I've unconsciously switched over to water over the years, I think im just self conscious about my weight. All the waitresses speak english but not too fluently but they are nice enough. Overall I love going to this place for the food they serve. Read more

My friends and I always enjoy Tokyo Kitchen. We've never been disappointed. The Gyoza are quite good. I tend to order the Donbury dishes and I go back again and again for them. My friends occasionally go for the ramen. They use the less common dark style with a touch of soy sauce in the broth. I'd recommend trying it at least once if you've only had light ramen before. The green tea icecream must be homemade. It's the most fantastic green tea icecream I've ever tasted. It's creamy and very mildly sweet with a real depth to the flavor - perfectly capturing the Japanese knack for subtle sweetness. Read more

Definitely the best bar / restaurant in the area. Great Patio in the back and very cozy atmosphere inside. This is a designated heritage building and there are old pictures of the area on the walls which is a nice touch. The food is great and it's a mix of Italian, Mexican, American. What I like most is the open kitchen. The food is prepped in the open! It's a refreshing change from almost all other restaurants that prep food behind closed doors (makes you wonder what's really crawling in the kitchen). The Bar has good selection on tap and there is a comfortable lounging area in the back by the fireplace as well. If you are looking for something in this area, I would definitely recommend going here. Read more
