In 2011, Vancouver locals Geoff Hamilton, Jeremy Wong and Tyler Farstad set out to right the wrongs they saw in the cupcake industry by designing cupcakes that put the focus on tasting great rather than looking pretty. Presenting such invigorating cupcake flavours as Rum and Coke, Apple Brie, Bacon Chili Chocolate, and their flagship Buffalo Wing, ManCakes Bakery's treats are created to keep your taste buds happy.

“Originally the conversation started with Jeremy and me. People would offer cupcakes as snacks and we just couldn’t understand the appeal of these frilly over-iced things,” says Geoff. “So we started talking about how we would make them with unique flavours, fillings, toppings...”

Initially laughing it off, Jeremy and Geoff soon realized that their friend Tyler was a trained pastry chef and they approached him with their ideas. Several months and many tastings later, they presented 10 unique and delicious cupcakes to the online market and the concept immediately took off. Since 2013, you can find the men behind ManCakes Bakery at 288 Robson Street; they encourage you to stop by and change your perception of what a cupcake can be!
