Michelle LeMoignan and Brianna Vallet share a love for baking, their hometown, and the bright smiles on their customers' faces when they eat a freshly baked cupcake at Flirt Cupcakes. “I just love the instant gratification of creating something that makes people happy,” Michelle says. “At our shop, people leave with a smile on their face.”

Inspired by the cupcake shops she discovered on trips to Los Angeles, Michelle brought the craze to Edmonton with her friend and hockey teammate, Rick Krupa, in 2009. “We both just loved baking and business and decided to combine the two,” she says. “We actually opened on Valentine’s Day. It was chaos.” A few years later, she joined forces with Brianna, who manages the downtown location of Flirt Cupcakes. They've built a great following and have many repeat customers.
