My friend and I went to La Luna, on the corner of Queen St. and King St. for lunch because we had always wanted to try the food there, and we were in the area. When we arrived, there was a large party at the back of the restaurant, and a few other people scattered at other various tables. The entire front section was empty except for 2 tables, in use by separate parties. The waitress who seated us, squeezed a huge table right between the huge party, and the other seating closest to the bar. We were so uncomfortable, as there was no space to really relax and enjoy our meal. We ordered the hummus appetizer, which we shared, and I decided on the falafel, while my friend ordered a chicken wrap (not sure of the exact name). Our appetizer took forever to come to the table, as our waitress was more concerned with the large party seated next to us. We then waited another 20 minutes for her to remember we had drinks and our meals which she still hadn't brought out. When we finally got the food, it was incredible - just the right amounts of coriander, and a nice surprise - a pickle, wrapped in with my falafel. I never would have made the combination myself, but it was definitely incredible. My friend throroughly enjoyed her meal as well. We were still seated there when the large party left, and we heard our waitress say to another, "you'd expect that a large party of wealthy people would know how to tip... the left us nothing!" Maybe all her focussed attention on them was misplaced? All I could think was, "too bad, you're not getting a tip from us because you didn't serve us properly." I typically will leave 15% - 20% depending on the service. Needless to say, our service and seating was horrible, but our food was the saving grace of our experience at this restaurant.
