Disgusting food! A childs Neal was a small bowl of dry spaghetti noodles cooked with butter and cheese, the child vommited. Adult steak dry and nasty hard carrots plus cold vegetable. Kids pizza foul tasty canned sauce on a flat bread. Complained and was told nothing going we can do or offer!!!?!
I don't understand how a menu, presumably foisted upon reasonably discerning diners across Canada every night of the week can be:
a) so generic
b) so poorly executed
Though our server exhibited the requisite perky demeanor (which I can do without during my feeding activity, but I appreciate the opportunity to practice my objectivity), the one room divider in a 150 seat restaurant does not a peaceful meal make. I literally had to shout to have a conversation, and there was no sporting event being broadcast on the restaurant's televisions.
As anticipated, I found no deviation from the corporate edict on the menu. Battered mushroom caps... I can make at home.
My steak, which I ordered medium, came charred, and since I couldn't rely on the onion-fritters-from-a-can to sustain me, I turned to the beer to forget my Crabby experience.
How easy it can be, apparently, when your menu advertises "Sub-Zero Beer", to invert your integers. My beer was on the warm side of 20 degrees C, and as I'm not opposed to putting my glass outside in the November evening for a few minutes to get it south of room temperature, I wanted nothing more than to be outside, in the parking lot, with my glass, cooling off.
I went hungry to the tune of $75, which, to add hunger to humility, I was nearly charged twice.
Our perky server (how does she do it serving such fare?) arrived with the bill, and skipped off to find "the terminal". After joyfully informing us that she "couldn't find it", and embarking on another search, a rather non-descript older woman approached us with a wireless terminal, took my credit card, and proceeded to process the transaction.
As I joked to my dining partner that wandering in off the street with a wireless terminal to harvest credit card numbers was the newest scam, our waitress-go-lightly turned up on cue to ask for the card.
I quick to finger our first debitor, who I still imagine as Mrs. Crabby, still circulating amongst the diners, and who, if she has any conscience, feels poorly for the food her establishment serves.
I would happily pay twice to never again return to Crabby Joe's, on Dundas East, or any other corner of the globe.
We went to Crabby Joe's for a quick dinner with some family we don't see to often. Service was fairly quick and the dinning room was fairly empty at 6:30.
Our first problem came when my wife's Shrimp Penne came sans shrimp. We sent if back and most of us were halfway done when she finally got the right order.
My Mediterranean burger was suppose to come with feta and a pesto sauce. The amount of cheese was pathetic and the sauce was nowhere to be found. The burger itself was a bit over done but not bad.
My husband ordered the Smoke Shack Burger with fries. He said it was excellent. The burger was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Ribeye Steak with loaded baked potato. The potato was great. I loved the mixture of cheese and bacon. Delicious. The steak, was..cooked right, but very fatty. Perhaps just the cut. Almost 50 percent fat. So it was okay. This location has always been reliable for us, and we always return. Convenient, cheap enough, good enough food. Although, I'm just not satisfied enough with tonights meal....
The best thing at Crabby Joe's are the wings! They are to die for. Some times they are cooked better than other times but for the most part, they are very delicious. I usually go after 9 because the appetizers are 1/2 price but the only catch is that you have to buy a drink which isn't so bad. There is, however, another catch. You can't take the food home is you come for the 1/2 appetizers. I can understand that if someone comes in for that deal and starts to order everything off the menu and just leaves after they get the food without eating anything but they wouldn't even let me take home 4 wings that I just couldn't eat. 4 WINGS! are you serious? it's not like the 4 wings are going to sustain me for a week. Like I've paid for the food and I can't take it home. That's the only part I don't agree on. Sometimes the service could be a little better but for the most part it was decent. the atmosphere is great! Really brings people together.
I would definitely go back even though they don't allow me to take MY food home.
The wing nights (Tuesdays) are great! Chep good wings that me and my father liked. The service was pretty good.
I would say I would come back again. I don't know why so many people say the food is bad.

Crabby's staff is usually very busy so they sometimes don't have the time to give everyone top notch service. But I think their food is some of the best in town. I've been going for their chicken wings since I moved here and on this particular visit I went for my birthday and got some excellent eats. Wonderful I'll go back anytime.
Visited for the 4th time and had a wonderful time. We had the T-bone and the baked chesse penne it was great.The server was awesome and the manager did a table visit and that was also very nice. We will definately go back.
Our service was fantastic! the food was quick, and hot, our waitress was very friendly, and when we returned the next night, just to go to the bar, she saw us, remebered us and came over to speak with us.I wonder if the people getting bad service are being rude to the staff, because everyone was friendly to us.

We arrived at the restaurant around 5 pm and were seated immediately. Our waitress took our drink order and then took our food order. After this we see our waitress sit down at another booth with what we assumed were patrons of the restaurant and took 2 or more shots of alcohol. Then she was poured a glass of wine. I approached the hostess and explained what was going on and she at first seemed apologetic and then became very defensive saying that that person was not our waitress. She said she would go find out what was going on. Shortly after a waitress approached us and said that she was taking over for the previous waitress because she was now off duty and that she thought someone had told us this. She almost immediately brought us our food. One of the members of my table however ordered the chicken Oscar and received the chicken diana. The waitress fixed the order. By the time our meals were at the table they were for the most part cold and unappetizing. After this a nearby table became raucous and beligerent and nothing was done about it. they were laughing as loudly as someone would at a football game. We did however receive a free cheesecake, coffee and the wrong order was free of charge. The second waitress we had was absolutely wonderful and did everything she could to make up for the first waitresses mistakes. It was however an unpleasant experience and left us still hungry afterward.
From what I hear from the servers and others throughout town, the management is horrible and turnover for servers is common.
The food was ok, but the servers seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than to see if I was ready for a refill on my pop or have my plates taken away.
