We were looking for a new Breakfast place to eat and Family Circle was recomended.........open early on a Sunday was a real treat and bonus for us as we like to start our day early. The atmosphere was very inviting and had a homey feel to it. We were seated right away in a booth on the East facing windows, The morning sun felt great But with no shades we were blinded by the sun not real fun. Our server came and took our beverage order right away ( Good)
The Breakfast Menu was very extensive and we had trouble deciding exactly what to get. The price of the beverage was not in sight so I couldn't compare just how expensive my Hot Chocolate was but had I known I would not have ordered it. Once we made our minds up the order was placed and it didn't take long before we settled in to eat. The portion size was excellent and the temperature of the meal was right on ( Hot ). The server came by 2x to see if we needed anything. Once we were done our bill came and we paid and left in good time. Although the Food was good I do think it was on the slightly pricey side when compared to other Breakfasts of the same type. A Nice place to eat
Whenever going for a quick bite to eat, I always suggest this restaurant to friends and family, my boyfriend and I frequent the place for breakfast as well. It's usually busy, but our food is always hot and very tasty... Always exactly what I order, too, which is important to me being vegetarian.
I work for a huge chain restaurant, and am sick of frozen and pre-packaged food. The Family Circle is part of a dying breed of restaurant actually serving fresh and homemade food. Anyone who has had a bad experience here should give them another chance because I personally love everything about it and can't see why anyone would have been treated badly there.
So I went with some friends to the Family Circle for breakfast early one morning. We walked in and it looked very busy, we were worried about getting a table all together.
We ended up at a large table in the back, in a very dark corner. Afterwards we all commented on how glad we were to see the sun again!
Anyhow our waitress was very friendly, While we were ordering there was much discussion, many changes, and just a little bit of joking around. She never appeared bothered or flustered and she still got all our orders right ... which frankly I didn't expect to happen. (though it would have been our fault).
Anyhow our food came a little slowly and we dug in. It wasn't bad, portions were a nice size and the breakfast menu was more extensive than some. Still breakfast is pretty easy and most places are very similar.
Unfortunately we were a bit surprised by the bill, guess I am just used to very cheap breakfasts.
Dirty, outdated and snotty. Found a hair in my food and called the manager over. They had the nerve to say it was my own. Strange since it was not the same colour or curlyness of my own hair. They said I was just complaining for a free meal! What?? Was informed that the kitchen staff wear hats and because of this, it was impossible for hair to fall into the food! I don't think so. Never never never again. Any good reviews must be family, friends or being paid to say these things. If this is the best restaurant you've been to, then you need to get out of London and try real food.
There's no point in describing how terrible this food was. I'm almost positive everthing was either frozen or out of a can at some point. The menu has zero creativity and nothing fresh, it's as if someone froze a restaurant from 1985 in time and still operates it today as the Family Circle. We did have a large group so it's understandable that service would be a little slow but this was historically so...it took 90 minutes to be served anything and even then some of us were done before others had even been served. Only 2 of the 9 orders were entirely correct, some items forgotten completely (gravy, side salads, fries instead of salad, that sort of thing), and no one was satisfied with the taste. It's clear looking at the reviews below that the owners and their family frequent this website and like to post under pseudonyms.
I was at the Family cirlce the day the "Breakfeast club" ate there. I must say that the family circle for starters has been serving the community of london for over 40 years and have expirence and expertise in the restuarant sector. They are the best restuarant for breakfeast. No one has competed with this restuarant they have the fasterst service in london, best quality, and above all treat you with respect and kindness. The day the breakfeast club ate was on a sunday which is the busiest day for breakfeast in any restuarant. As a customer we all have to understand that you cannot simply sit down and eat your meal then expect to be sitting at the same table for over a hour and a half which is what the breakfeast club did. Other customers are waiting to be seated and you would think that people would have the sense of inteligence to understand and not over stay there time. As a customer I understand that you cannot expect to eat and sit at the same table for over a hour and a half or else how would the restuarant make money? Above all the family circle dersrves a to be realized as a quality restuarant as they are picture perfect in my eyes
I have to say the family cirlce is probably the best restuarant i have been to. They have the fastest breakfast in town. They specialize in breakfast but what trully makes them better then any other restuarant is their service. At the family cirlce they treat you like family you feel warm and welcomed. They could be packed and have you in and out within minutes they are so fast! must try out there new Omega 3 eggs only restuarant in london to serve them! They also are the only place to have certified angus and on top of that they use kanola oil for their homefries! not only do you recieve fast service but also a healthy breakfast
I went to this restaurant with a group of friends from work, we call ouselves the Breakfast Club. While the waitress was wonderful, and the food quite good, the management is horrible. My friend called ahead and reserved as there were 6 of us on a busy Sunday morning, Sept. 7th. I was the first to arrive and the person that greeted me knew nothing about the reservation and did not check. I was a few minutes early so went back outside to wait for my friends. Another person from our group arrived and this time I asked him to check and gave him the name of the person who made the reservation. He seated us. About 4 minutes later, he came back, glared at us and looked at his watch and told us that we had exactly an hour as another party was coming in at noon. It was just 11AM and the rest of the party arrived at about 11:05. At 11:15 they cam to take our order. We enjoyed the meal and on the way out, one of our party tried to complain to managment and was met with a shrug, indicating that he could not have cared less that we were treated badly. I nor my friends will ever go there again.
We have a Breakfast Club once a month and rotate between different restaurants. Because of the larger number of attendees, I call ahead and advise of the number and time. Today, I and the others were treated with the utmost disrespect. Upon arrival, we were emphatically advised we only had one (1) hour to be seated at our table(s). No-one took our orders until 11:15 am. No-one (restaurant or otherwise) is going to tell me or others how long they will be allow to be seated to have a meal. The server of our table was very nice and accommodating. As for the upper management, they will not see me or the rest of the Breakfast Club at their establishment again. I will be sure to share this negative experience with friends and colleagues.
My wife and I have been visiting The Family Circle for years now and often when recommending it I have been asked to sum it up in a single word, which I happily do: CONSISTENT
I am very irritated when I discover a restaurant and have an excellent first experience, but upon a return visit encounter something of the opposite. The expectation created by the initial visit only lends to the totality of the dissapointment one feels when this happens. The Family Circle has yet to scorn me in this fashion.
Usually when I visit this cozy little restaurant I am looking for a large and hearty home cooked breakfast, and I can say with confidence that each and every time I have been there the food and service have been consistently -excellent-. The value is there as well, it is one of the more inexpensive quality breakfasts you can find in the city, and in my opinion the only one worth seeking out.
Regrettably I was forced to grant an 8 in the final column solely due to the hours of operation of this fine and friendly establishment, sometimes it simply isn't open when I'm ready to eat!
This is probably the best resturant in london... ive been there many times now and im addicted!!! the food, service, and atmopshere is just amazing.... the fastest place in london... they have new omega three eggs!!!! the best taste by far everyone must try this place trust me you will be drooling no place can compete with the Family Circle!!!!!!
How very disrespectful. My partner and I went there for breakfast. We noticed the table near the window open and asked if we could sit there. The host said, "No, I will set something up for you in the back". We thought perhaps he went to set the table for us. As we waited a table of three came in. When the host returned he asked the people behind us "How many in your party?" They responded three. And he sat them at the table we just asked him for and left us just standing there.....That's when we decided to go somewhere else for breakfast :)

I would have to reccomand the family circle restuarant. I would say it is number one in London for family restuarants. The service was the fastest i have ever seen. They were packed when i was there and it took only 7 minutes to serve our food. The quality of the food was amazing and the service was unbelivable. Everyone had a smile on their face. A very clean and well operated restuarant. You must try it out!!!
