    When in Rome

    We visited La Piazza last weekend. We had 8:30 res and they had a table for us right away! We started with the calamari, it was cripsy and light and fresh. We decided to order two of the specials for the night. The beef and veal tortellini in a veal reduction sauce and a dash of cream was savory and delicate and mouth watering! We also had the homemade gnocci in a pork and beef bolognese sauce. It did not disappoint! The gnocci were perfectly dense and prepared to perfection. Service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable and upbeat and the food came out quickly. The restaurant is small but has a great atmosphere. One of my friends and I both visited Italy earlier this year and La Piazza made us feel like we were back in Rome!!

    Hidden Gem

    Quaint ,family style restaurant in Manotick, which I may now call a hidden gem. The food is simple and elegant, with notes of modern flare but the with the soul of traditional Italian cuisine. Everything on the menu is cooked with the chef's heart and passion. A truly remarkable dining experience, worth coming from Montreal just to experience it. Keep up the great work.

    Good Food, good service, lovely patio

    I've read a few reviews on this restaurant, most of them great; some of them not so good... We decided to give it a try on the weekend. We were surprised at how busy it was, there were no empty tables; in my mind that says quite a bit about the establishment, people like it. We started with appetizers, I had the caprese salad and my husband had the mussels. We received a very generous portion of each, both were very well done. My salad had a delicious balsamic glaze and lots of buffalo mozzarella. The mussels were served in a lovely wine broth, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. Because our starters were so generous we decided that we would share a main course, the pasta sampler was ideal. Pasta was cooked nicely the sauce was tangy and not too salty and the fillings were all delicious. Overall we were quite impressed, and we will go back.

    Great Value

    I keep coming back to this place cause the atmosphere, larger portions, reasonable prices and delicious Italian fare draws me back. I went at around 5:30pm and this place had 25% of its tables already filled. By the time I left at 6:15pm, the place was just hopping with activity, with patio seating and dining room seating filled and people waiting. ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs which is 3 big delicious meatballs served with tomato based sauce. I also had a side order of their Penne with garlic and olive oil which was cooked perfectly and had great flavour to it. After your entrees are served to you, the servers also offers you hot chilli flakes and parmesan cheese to enchance the flavour of your food. We also had the Chicken La Piazza which was absolutely full of flavour. Full, I mean explosion of flavour which just takes it up a notch. I loved it, the taste was amazing. I also had a side caesar salad as well which tasted so fresh and not overpowering like some other places. We still cannot finish the meal so we packed them home to enjoy the next day.

    Best Meal in a long time

    A group of us went to La Piazza Courtyard for an impromptu celebration on the weekend. It was the best meal that I've had in a long time and the best ambience as well. The food was amazing, my shrimp and scallop fromaggio was totally delicious. Good value for everything we had, and the portion size was well worth the price.
