Thought we’d try the pizza and pasta when they first opened (Port Dover location) and this is now our FAVE place! The sauce is delicious, they are very generous with portions, reasonably priced and friendly. Also just had the chicken bites tonight and YUM! 😊 we will be loyal customers that’s for sure!! Also love that cute little bun in the middle of the pizza;)

Excellent!!!

Went here for my birthday last week. This was my first time here but not my last. The food was great. We ordered the platter which feeds 4-6 people for $70 bucks and there was a ton of food. They also have the best deep fried pickles on the planet (and trust me I know my pickles). As well we ordered their home brewed beer and it was great!! Awesome place for families/couples and everyone in between!! Can't wait to go back.

Great meal!

Looking for a place after Friday the 13th, we opted for this place right outside of town. Wasn't disappointed at all with the food. Others enjoyed the beer they served. Again though, I'm a burnt ends fan and would love to be able to order those in any bbq joint, but not available here. I'd be back again, great little bbq joint.

Second time disappointing

Combined a day trip to Long Point with a second visit to the Dogsnest. Pretty disappointed this time. Only three tables occupied at 5:00 PM on Saturday. Servers spent more time chatting around the bar. Got the St. Louis ribs/chicken combo. The chicken was great but the ribs were inedible. Ribs should be "fall off the bone" but I couldn't pry this meat off the bone with a knife. Couldn't get the servers attention so just gave up. Wife loved her meal so we may try it once more.

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times now. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. The service is questionable, we have never been there when there is more than 2 or 3 tables, yet we had to get our own fork and knife, and were given bare minimum service. I think we will give it one more try before we give up.

Excellent

The price is very reasonable for the excellent food. We have eaten here abut 10 times, the only negative is the wait sometimes when they are busy but it is all worth waiting for. The ambience is totally different, one would not expect a harley setting to work for everyone but there are people from all walks of live. the staff and owner, wayne, are very friendly. i like the knick knacks, we sat on a table with a Barbie Doll and worked out she was Barbie-Q ( BBQ). great setting, you must try it. We are going back again..

We have eaten here 4 times so far. The most recent time was for my birthday, and we had about 14 people in our party. There were 4 kids with us, and the menu was more than adequate for them as well. Most of the men in the party ordered the rib dinner, which was hanging off the platter and tender to boot! I don't usually order appetizers from any restaurant on an outing, but since it was my birthday, we ordered the crab cakes which were so good we were fighting over them! My favorite item off the menu is the half or quarter chicken dinner. The chicken is supurb - really there is no other taste like it!! They serve it with sweet potatoe fries and a fritter, which is also amazingly good. There is usually so much food with our dinners that we end up taking doggy bags home with us. I can't really comment on the serving staff, as each time I have gone on a week-night and there is only one server in the dining-room. We also loved the decor, the Harley, the musical instruments and the booths.

We've eaten here about 6 times. The lunch is a bit overpriced. Dinner is excellant although the menu is somewhat limited, chicken and pork. The ribs could be a bit more tender but lots of meat. The weekend breakfast is the best. No deep fried home fries here. Fried mashed potatos and served with a side of Maple Beans. The scrambled eggs with cheese are cooked just right. Not dried out. It is now my favourite place for breakfast and dinner. The Blue Grass music reminds us of Tennessee. We love the place!

Due to the popularity of this newly opened...

Due to the popularity of this newly opened smokehouse (six weeks) expect a wait during peak meal times and no reservations allowed. When you exit your vehicle in the parking lot you are immediately greeted with the sweet smell of BBQ smoke billowing over the roof of the restaurant. Try not to drool. Lots on the menu to choose from. Good portions. A two beer wait for your food. My ribs were a little tough but the chicken was tender and moist. Good BBQ sauce on both. Onion rings are beer battered with stripes on them not sure what the stripes are but they had a very unique flavour (good). Sweet potato fries were good as were the garlic mashed potato's. Both were piping hot!! Interesting deep fried corn bread comes with the meal. One side of the menu is BBQ - flip it over and the other side seems a little more traditional ie: hamburgs wings etc. Lots of side dishes to choose from. The staff rush around to keep things on track. Not to say they are unfriendly - they are very attentive but are focussed on the job at hand. I have spoken with several individuals about their experience at Dog's nest - never heard anything bad yet! Add me to the list of happy customers looking forward to trying more on the menu. Would like to try the sampler plate for $45.00 that feeds 4 to 5 guests.
