Meet the owner

Eugenia Sosa is an eye-catching salon in the heart of the Plateau that offers a head-to-toe beauty experience. Get your hair cut, coloured or styled in the main room, or treat yourself to a manicure in the nail bar next door. There is also an esthetician specializing in hair removal set up in a cozy loft space on the second floor.

A former model and artist in her native Venezuela, the owner and namesake of the salon has been in the beauty business for as long as she can remember. “My mother raised us in this field, she was a hairdresser all her life,” Eugenia explains. “She had many salons, in Venezuela as well as here in Montreal.” Eugenia eventually followed in her mother’s footsteps. “Before hair, I was more into design and fashion, but I had a knack for hairdressing, it came naturally to me,” she says. “I started doing cuts and it sort of snowballed; I found jobs, and I was rather successful, I had my own clientele, I could live off of it.”

As her passion for hair grew through the years, so did her breadth of knowledge. “I’ve always been keen to learn,” she says. “I’ve traveled for my training to Toronto to take classes with Vidal Sassoon. I also went for training in Barcelona and Rome. I always keep up to date, I invest a lot.”
