Sugar-lovers will cry “finally!” at La Buche, the only sugar shack in downtown Quebec City that’s open year-round. More bistro than shack, this restaurant on rue Saint-Louis revisits grandma’s classics in somewhat twisted fashion. The home-made smoked salmon crepe has been known to leave more than one person drooling.
A cabane à sucre (or sugar shack) open year-round – that's good news for children, right? At La Bûche, in the heart of Old Quebec on rue Saint-Louis, we celebrate sugar shack style, with a menu made up of familiar dishes that are reinvented in a delightful atmosphere.
Steps from the Château Frontenac is La Bûche, a friendly restaurant where cabane à sucre (sugar shack) dishes are wonderfully reinvented. If we can enjoy marvelous dinners there, we'll take advantage of our Saturday and Sunday mornings to try the omelette d’la grand-mère (Grandma's Omelette), the assiette d’la cabane (Sugar Shack Plate) or the cassolette du bûcheron (Lumberjack's Cassolette), accompanied by a mimosa d’la cabane (sugar shack mimosa) (at will between 10:00 am and 11:00 am!).
