For entrepreneur and chef Ricardo Lo Schiavo, his vision of a catering service is one that combines all the best aspects of a restaurant with the added benefit of a close relationship with the client. “We get to work closely with them, we get to know their tastes and personalities, and what really turns them on, food-wise,” says Lo Schiavo, who runs OMG Traiteur. “And once we’ve established that relationship, we can create great things together, like tailor-made menus that reflect their personalities and allow them to throw amazing events. Coming up with custom and personalized menus is really my favourite thing when it comes to food.”
Half-bistro, half-caterers, OMG Traiteur allows its clientele to either sample culinary creations in its Jean-Talon Street restaurant or to take them to go. “We offer a rather modern type of cuisine, for people who are generally health-conscious and on the go,” notes Ricardo. “So we have a lot of inventive salads and sandwiches, with an Italian-fusion twist.”
