I had the grilled seabass (fantastic) and my wife had a steak also good. The wine selection is honest and earthy with emphasis on portuguese and well priced. We come here to celebrate our one year anniversary and only because they have $1 oysters after 5pm. We figured we would have a 5 or 6 dozen and then head out to a lite dinner and some dancing. We never left Biffs. From the amazing service to having the evening manager come over to talk to us, everything here was wonderful. We ended up eating 8 dozen oysters, a bottle of champagne andtwo bottles of wine as well as the Scotch Eggs, Oh me oh my the scotch eggs here are to die for and you will not regret ordering them. We stayed for 5 hours enjoying thre ambience and each others talks. At the end of the night ( we closed the restaurant ) they brought us a complimentry dessert with happy anniversary wriiten in chocolate on it. Nice touch! Your server may decide to eat your meal in front of you, this exact situation happened to me at this ghastly restaurant. Servers are all horrible people, and kitchen staff couldn't cook kraft dinner. After waiting 2 hours for food that would only take 30 minutes to cook they tried to tell us it's only been 40 minutes. Disrespect after disrespect from the staff at this terrible place. On a long street with bountiful options for where to eat, I could see how this place might get passed by. When we entered it was not very busy but the atmosphere was very welcoming. We were there for a Sunday lunch so we all ordered coffee to start, they have a decent cafe au lait. The menu had a great variety with excellent prices! All of the entree salads were only $8. After ordering, we waited a really long time for our food, especially since it wasn't busy at all. However, when the food came out it was all divine! The pizza's were very large for one person and the crust was excellent. Omelette's and eggs benedicts were enjoyable as well. A neat thing about this place is that you have the option of half fries, half salad for your side with any entree. Overall, a good experience with decent prices but if you are in a rush I would suggest you go elsewhere because the service was very leisurely. Read more

Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Read more
