On Wednesdays Montana's has an "all you can eat beef rib night", its worth the trip and go there hungry. They have 2 choices of beef ribs "back" or "side" ribs, back ribs are more tender and have more meat on them. Its a fantastic meal and very delicious, I find myself dreaming of those ribs the rest of the week. Sadly they do not offer the same meal any other night of the week, its a one night only affair, the rest of the week they offer only a pork bone substitute for "Ribs" which is not at all like on rib night. Another annoying thing is you cannot switch rib type once you start so choose carefully. I know they have Rib night in several other Montana's restaurants in the Ottawa area on the same night but I don't know if it's chain wide, check with your local restaurant. The Wednesday night beef ribs are the best I've ever had. Read more

I was compelled to write something. We pop into this cafe about 3 times a month.. We love that it is local, friendly, and food is always fresh. In all the times we've visited I think we've not liked one item, and although it was personal preference the cafe still let us select something else with no extra charge. Staff were very eager to make all of us happy with our meals. I couldn't believe someone said it was dirty and tired because it is far from it. It's always spotless. I'm truely shocked. If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time. We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short. The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant. Read more

Been twice in the past month-once for dinner and a lunch. The space is small and has been busy but accomodating on both occasions. You can buy fresh fish to take home from a counter as you come in. They serve a basket of warm little grainy rolls to start along with glasses of water. My companion's halibut, declared the best ever, sat perched on julliened veggies with a light citrus sauce as the days special. My jumbo shrimps were perfectly done in a garlic sauce. The glasses of wine were more generous than one usually finds. The fish and chips came with fresh cut fries and a small homemade coleslaw. Nice and crispy. Our only disappointments were a cup of lobster bisque-thin broth vs the creamy concoction I was expecting(Maybe I don't know bisque) and crab cakes which came as two large balls with a uniform minced texture. Hard to tell it was crab but tasted ok-Generally everything coming from the kitchen looked wonderful. Read more
