Last night I went out with the girl friend for my birthday dinner. I had been craving manicotti for a long time and heard they served it. What a treat we were in for. Very cute 10 table restaurant with a sit up bar, very traditional style Italian food and wines. Our bill was $85 for a bottle of wine, 2 entrees, an appetizer and a dessert each. We were waited on by the owner all night. Not because it was my birthday, not because he was under staffed, but because he care. My only warning is, make a reservation as this place was full all night long on a Wednesday, I can only imagine what its like on a Friday. Read more

While Osteria is not designed to be particularly "child friendly," the staff went out of their way to keep our hungry toddler happy during a wait that took longer than anticipated (these things happen when you wander in on a Friday night without reservations). The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. If I lived in the neighborhood this is definitely a place where I could become a regular. And in the end, the food was well worth the wait. I had the tenderloin steak, it was the most tender steak I ever had. There were nine of us celebrating a special birthday. The wait staff treated us like royalty and all of the food was delicious, especially the steak. The restaurant is located in Stadium shopping centre. Muse has to be one of my favorite “special occasion” restaurants in Calgary. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and combines the childhood whimsy of the circus with a touch of class. The staff was so tentative to my needs and really delivered on customer service. The dinner started with two wonderfully mixed cocktails to go with our complimentary truffle popcorn. The chef actually did a wonderful vegetarian chef menu for me, which I thought was very nice. I highly recommend the magic of muse to anyone going for their first date looking to impress. Read more
